Re: CZECH REPUBLIC 2016

I really don´t think they will participate twice in a row, especially not now, when Marta sold her soul to a different tv channel as a juror in Czecho-Slovak Superstar. But it would be nice to keep them around in some way, possibly as Czech spokespersons - I can see Marta announcing the results and Václav standing behind her, nodding and saying "exactly". :)

Wonderful news. They are on the right path and 2015 proves that they have what it takes to qualify. The juries may have not liked it enough to send it through but it's only a matter of time until it happens.

Btw, we are de facto confirmed, but the final decision is still yet to be taken and it will be taken during this month.
ČT people said Eurovision is a great opportunity to present and promote our culture to the world.

Also, director of ČT Petr Dvořák is part of EBU Executive board and ČT programme director Milan Fridrich is vicepresident of Eurovision TV committee, so it's unlikely we will withdraw (since I think they don't want to disappoint their EBU colleagues :p)

Re: CZECH REPUBLIC 2016

The poll on ESCportal.cz, asking who would be the best choice as Czech representative, was closed yesterday (results: 1. Ewa Farna with 9%, 2. Marta Jandová with 7%, 3. Lucie Vondráčková with 6%) .

Now they started the second round of it, in which the choices are divided in three categories - male singer, female singer and band - each containing the TOP 10 from the results of the previous poll. (personally, I voted for female singer Elis, male singer Thom Artway and band Kryštof, if anybody cares).

I was quite shocked by the fact that incredibly cheesy band called Slza is currently leading their category. At first, I thought it´s caused solely by the fact that their singer is a very popular Czech Youtuber with easily fanatizable community of fans, so the real taste of Czech audience hopefully isn´t that bad. But to my horror, I found out that Slza band actually IS popular. Their biggest hit called "Lhůta záruční" has over 7.000.000 of views on Youtube, the second most popular "Celibát" over 4.000.000. So, it looks like a real threat.

Slza is fine, I was actually thinking few days ago they might be interested in ESC. They will release their album next month ;) And they are very popular, not only on Youtube but in radios, spotify etc. as well. One of the biggest thing in our music this year

I would be more worried about the two boybands in the poll and I wouldn't stand Lucie Vondráčková as our representative either.

Anyway, in the new poll I voted for Thom Artway, Voxel, Lenny, Aneta Langerová, Gabriela Gunčíková, Jelen, Kryštof and Light & Love - any of these would be great imo :D

Lets see if ČT takes the poll into consideration like last year ;)

I really hope you are kidding. No offense, but this type of music really makes me vomit into bucket, so to say. What do you find so "fine" about it?

But I agree with you in everything else, especially about the other two puppet boybands and Lucie Vondráčková. She seems to be out of question anyway.

Dunno, their music is ok to me, especially their new single Katarze (but you won't like it either ). I wouldn't call it cheesy, more like bland and inoffensive. There are certainly worse bands here :D ESC would be all over social media and more young people would watch it if Slza participated.

xhand Stop that now! Ok, you failed to qualify this year but you can't do this to us  I don't know the group you're talking about but if you call it yourself like that, then they'd better stay away from the contest. :D Leave the blandness to Denmark, would you?

And the worst would be you qualifying with an average song :?

I expected the worst reading the opinion about this band called Siza. Well, they are not that bad  And after Tereza Kerndlová everything is a masterpiece!

Not sure in what she was better. In singing certainly not. Gipsy.cz were fine except for the costume.

Her performance was much better, Her song could have been a hit if the right singer had sing it.
Gipsy was a mess and if you ask me awful on stage.
Sorry

What was better about her performance? she did nothing on the stage except for showing her underwear, skinny long legs and looking uncomfortable while obviously not hitting a single note. But it's true the blandest songs with lyrics written by 5 years old kids are often hits...

This is what Eurovision was all about  Cheap music, gimmicks, half-naked bad singers and block voting. She was a perfect choice for Eurovision.
