Cyprus... why? I thought it was supposed to be a great rock song until I heard the disco chorus. I'm confused. :(

The verses are rather good, I love how the drums kick in, I'm excepting something decent and exciting.... and then the chorus comes, gosh, the chorus.... It's the blandest most uninspired thing I've ever heard and ruins everything :? :? It annoys me to no end. It's.... bad. This song is wanna-be rock, wanna-be tough, but really it's annoying commercial mix of whatever, dated as f**k in my opinion and very underwhelming. Or maybe it's just because there's no atmosphere here that I like, no intrigue.. I love songs that make me feel something, anything, but this leaves me feeling empty.

This is a very strange composition. It's basically a Rock Song produced as a EDM-track, lacking any sort of organic flow, with the bassline desperately grasping for air, trapped in a vortex of fluff and gloss. Absolutely hideous. Just when you expect a cheesy House-drop on the middle-8, the song actually redeem itself and kicks off with a quite good (but too short) guitar solo. But the damage is allready done; Just as the song started to approach a slight shift in quality, it abruptly ends.

Putting the production issues aside, the song still falls rather flat with the lyrics being bland and uninspired ("And you know you know this love will never die", "Life is a miracle, I sa-a-aw it in your e-e-eyes"). Weak. G:son can do better than this, but he had done worse (all tough you can't blame a guy who seem to dish out lyrics for every single C-artist on the entire planet and still set a certain level on the bar).

One thing I dont get; why do some people seem to have a problem with the genre? "Wanna-be rock", "trying to be rock", "pop with the slightest sprinkles of rock" - and then the "the need to add pop elements to it"... - and then using this in what seems like a rather negative way?? No room for cross-over music? Or is each genre sacred in any way?

I really couldnt care less what category this and other songs fits into. I only care about whether I like it or not. Whether it makes me feel something or not.

Now now....I really liked the 2015 song and was one of the few that early said it would qualify....And I still prefer it actually...

BUT this is really good as well! :D Nice rock-pop song, that is retro and modern at the same time and has a strong chorus. If it works live, I can see this be top 15 at least! :D Good job Cyprus! :)

I'd been trying to think of how to say this over the last few days, but you've expressed it better than I think I'd be able to. A lot of my favourite songs are those that fuse genres or subvert expectations, and I really don't like the idea that we should have to stick to some rigid set of genre guidelines or something. Just make good music!

This is a nice surprise

I expected absolutely nothing from this band after what they showed last year in the NF. I'm still unsure about the live performance since last year they looked rather amauteurish, but this is a quite appealing and strong entry. Maybe too calculated, especially for a rock song, but I'm sure Cyprus will qualify and get a decent result with this. 8 points.

Don't be. I've seen them LIVE back in December and they are amazing live. Francois (lead singer) will kill it. ;)

Well, maybe it's the cheap show last year what gave such poor image... And the injustice to Eva Diva, of course ;)

YES! Finally a great song this year! :D It's not perfect, I wish it actually dared to be a bit more hard rock than pop, but it's still awesome. xcheer

And DAYUM, the two long-haired gentlemen are some serious eye candy. xheat
