Seeing so much kerfuffle (both positive and negative) over this song makes sense, but man a week later and I really can't find myself interested in it. I wish it at least made me unsettled or alarmed because then I would have some sort of emotion from the performance and song, but instead I just sit and go "Oh, ok. That's what they're doing.".

And for a song and band with the key sell being provoking emotions, it just means they've completely failed to sell it to me. Without that, the musical side wasn't noticeable enough for me to enjoy either. Ah well, I'm sure they'll make many journalists and reaction channels very happy over the next few months. Definitely has a chance of qualifying and I'm sure I'll be grumpy about it beating out Latvia or something come the day.

I never felt sorry for some Eurovision entry not qualifying. Simply because these songs are not something revolutionary worth of attention of music professionals or general public.

The only time I would have gotten furious about an entry not succeding would be if Måneskin had not won. And I was furious about Mor ve Otesi's Deli not being awarded with a standing they deserved.

Latvia's song is beautiful, but for example JokerOut has a song that is better produced and is more appealing to general public taste.

Same thing could be said by the Slovenes - how did Latvia qualify and our band had not? Wouldn't they also be right about it?

Eurovision is a lottery. We must accept that at some point. Facing that background, the only fair thing to do is to let people decide and whatever they choose, it's been the choice of the most of the televoters and as such is legitimate, regardless my opinion about it.

It's the ending of Croatian national opera "Ero s onoga svijeta". That part starts at 3:00

The use of this national opera in Let 3's song was sort of a political provocation back then and a response to one popular right-wing singer who grabbed a part of national opera to his work from which most people found out about it for the 1st time. That opera wasn't performed in Yugoslavia because it didn't fit the canon of Yugoslav identity (was "too Croatian").

This is though Let 3's first hit of commercial success, that also dealt with the idea of "end to all things known". This is by far their best song to this day that earned them several awards.

And the East tries hard to become the West"

The biggest hit that was widely aired on radio and TV was this one...

And the 2nd fav of the media was this cover of a really horrendous cheap Balkan folk hit that they turned into a masterful rock song...

The latter is from their album "Bombing of Serbia and Čačak", on which they used as a cover a picture of Dubrovnik's old town that the Serb YNA bombed and set on fire in 91. By doing that they mocked nationalists in Serbia who presented Serbia as a victim of U.S. agression amidst NATO's military intervention to end their attack on Kosovo in 98. They were insightful even back then, as Putin exploited the same NATO intervention in his pre-invasion speech about Ukraine. So they always knew to mock the right narrative and be ahead of time.

And this is my fav performance of theirs.

EDIT: LET 3 has surpassed 1 million views on ESC channel and is now 3rd behind Blanca Paloma with 1.2 million views.

If we count in the views from Dora's channel, they are over 5 millions in less than 7 days.

Croatia, you did it. People now know you! And by your true colours and nature, most importantly.

They say they are changing staging and looking for some sponsors. National broadcaster has 0 plans when it comes to staging, just look at the scream-low-budget staging of Mia Dimsic last year.

They also asked a renowned Bosnian producer of electric tractors to sponsor them with one for free so they could use it to get around Liverpool and promote the entry. TRA-CTOR!

I think this entry IS quite terrible. If It "succeeds" It will be because of the "message" and IMO the message is so childish and blunt. The tractor means the tractor that the Bielorrusian president gave Putin for his birthday (WoW how witty ) and everything IS this level of irony and satire. A Circus. Benny Hill pretending to be the Monty Python.
Maybe is a cultural thing, being Spaniard i might "hate" Putin less than people from other countries Closer to Russia and they really need this entry to vent their feelings. A 0.

Actually, Spanish people subtitled Mama ŠČ to Spanish and published it on YT with Franco's face. They can relate to it.

I'm really tired of people going menthal when someone responds to their critique of an entry and I am tired of appeasing them.
