Tried to fix the broken pieces, now I'm leaving
But you made it loud and clear I’m not enough
Tried to fool me more than once to keep me dreaming
'Cause you knew the truth would tear us apart

If you pull me down then I'll come around
And rise up to come show you who I am
I feel fire inside, my heart’s desire
I'm breaking free from you

Tick-tock, watch the days go
I'm losing track of time
Lost in your playzone
Don't overcomplicate
Now we're in warzone
You're screaming, "Oh no, oh no, oh no"

Tick-tock, I'll take you dancing
In time wе might break
You think you're fancy
I play those gamеs my way and you’ll be beggin’
"Please baby, don't go, don’t go, don't go"

I hear those voices from far away
They help me to escape (Escape)
I found myself and I'm finally free from
Your bad love in every strength

Tick-tock, watch the days go
I'm losing track of time
Lost in your playzone
Don’t overcomplicate
Now we're in warzone
You're screaming, "Oh no, oh no, oh no"

Dancin', dancin'
Think you, think you fancy
Tick-tock
Don't go, don't go, don't go

I hear those voices from far away
They help me to escape (Escape)
I found myself and I'm finally free from
Your bad love in every strength

Tick-tock, vrijeme curi, gdje si više
Usne grizem, sama jedva dišem
Tick-tock vrijeme juri ne mogu više
Oh no, oh no

Tick-tock, I'll take you dancing
In time we might break
You think you're fancy
I play those games my way and you'll be beggin'
"Please baby, don't go, don't go, don't go"

Dancin', dancin'
Think you, think you fancy
Tick-tock
Don't go, don't go, don't go

Alkonost is, in Russian mythos and folklore, a woman-headed spirit bird that makes beautiful sounds. Those who hear them get hypnotized by them and forget everything they know. In another version, she torments the souls of the damned by singing terrible songs and giving them no rest.

It's starting to look like Nina is going for this second version. We are damned souls for not understanding the art that her staging was, for not praising her uniqueness and brutal honesty. Prepare yourselves.

Now everyone is calling her alkotest (Croatian word for a breathalyzer) of Balkans.

Yeah, I know, I'm Croatian. :D Amazing how this Alkotest of Balkans makes so much more sense than any idea she had for her performance. I usually try to stay nice and polite, but...this is funny, I have to laugh. I can't help it. :D

This is probably a niche drama for Croatia, but for everyone interested, there's another part to the scandal.
The biggest forum in Croatia uncovered that a member of the jury that was selecting which songs would go through to Dora made a profile on there in late 2020 and voted for Albina's song in a poll about who they were rooting for at Dora 2021. His profile had no posts, and this was his only activity as far as I've seen, but it's still so hilariously bad.
Somebody wrote a post on the forum about it and said that somebody should send that proof to Nina and they did, and as she was fighting the guy on his public Facebook posts already, she dropped him a screenshot of the expose post and said that the forum was sending their regards to him.

But that's still not really a proof? It takes more than one jury member cheering for a song to rig a contest.

All in all, I don't even care anymore if this was rigged or not. Even if it was rigged, this is NOT how one should handle the situation. If Nina's claims about HRT sabotaging her are legitimate, she should sue HRT instead of creating all this drama that is not doing anything good for anyone...

This is not how a jury member should behave, though, the EBU also cancelled the votes of that Russian lady who asked other Russian jury members to vote for Armenia back in 2016.

Of course, we are all humans and we should let a jury member have his or her favourite song but personally, I think that the votes of that jury member should habe been cancelled as well.

Still, Albina won the televoting by miles and thus, she still would have won.

It's absolutely not proof, but I never said it was, and like I said before, I do not think there was any rigging involved. It was the guy's private profile to boot, he was just stupid enough to name it using a combination of his first name and first initial of his last name and people figured it out and he basically confirmed it when Nina attacked him. He's an idiot, but that's another story.

He was in the jury that chose songs for Dora, we don't know if he was in the jury that was voting for winners. And how is the jury even supposed to choose their favorites if not by... choosing their favorites? Of course, he should have not done this and he should absolutely always be objective when doing such a job, but it's not the drama Nina thought it was, nor was it the proof she thought it was. One person answering a single poll voting for the person who ended up winning proves nothing.
Juries in this part of the world are not known to be objective, ever, though. They're always choosing their friends for things, not just for Dora, but in every single show we have, it's always their friends, cousins, people that are in their company, people they like, rarely it's about talent. I don't think that was the case there and I think the closest person to the complete package rightfully won, and some others are just salty (Nina, her fans).

Finally I could listen to this song.

I kinda like it to be honest, she has a great stage presence as well. But I have to also admit that I miss something, but I have really no idea what.

At the moment I give this a solid :7:.

There was not a single song/performance I liked enough to support two days ago and I believe we chose one of the lesser evil.

Tick-Tock is an ok attempt, nothing special about it, although it's way above what the average Croatian pop song sounds like. If not Albina, I would be fine with seeing ToMa or Mia winning. I'll wait a bit more before giving it a score in the poll here, but I guess it's something like 5-6 points from me now. I do admit that the part in Croatian 'Tick-Tock vrijeme cuuuuuri' was and still is stuck in my head since Saturday night.

As much as I liked Rijeka (and cannot wait for the studio version), Nina delivered a messy performance and she didn't deserve winning the whole thing. I also don't see a problem of her being a sore loser - she obviously is going through a lot of unpleasant emotions and she struggles to find the appropriate words and ways to deal with them. Not everyone is capable of accepting the reality at the same moment, and that's what makes us human beings. The unfortunate thing is that sometimes it may hurt other people's feelings, but we don't live in an acceptance and optimism vacuum. I guess that in few days/weeks she will figure out that not the whole world is spinning around her, and she might regret some of the things she said/claimed and hopefully she takes a lesson or two out of it.

I understand your point and I agree with the fact that it's polite and common to congratulate to the winner no matter what your result is, but I don't think she needs to be said what she could or should have done. Obviously she has her reasons (e.g. the un/reasonable feeling of injustice) and the more people 'push' the idea that she should congratulate Albina, I guess it's less probable she will be ready to do it anytime soon. It's a circle of 'inat', something that we in the Balkans struggle with a lot. Albina should and already is grateful for the convincing victory and the fact that apparently all the other contestants congratulated her, so why still focusing on one sore loser?

After most people didn't agree with Nina's attitude towards the whole situation, Nina Kraljić deactivated her Facebook page. I can't find her Instagram account either, one person said she just put it on private (although, usually private accounts are still visible, no?)...

I actually hope she will take the time she needs to think about the situation in a calm and rational way and that she'll come back when she's ready to move forward.
