Can we just talk about how epic that key change is though? It was always a highlight of the song, but now with those backing singers, it's so incredibly mesmerizing. I had some doubts about qualification, but now I definitely don't. Croatia will make it through.

I agree! The dress would look pretty cool if it wasn't for those things.

Still, the song is incredibly beautiful and so is Nina's voice. No matter how the outfit looks this song is just too good to be staying in the semi-final, it will surely qualify. However, maybe the full potential in the final result won't be achieved

I would like to know how they came to the dress in the first case. This Zigman guy is apparently a famous fashion designer, has won multiple prizes etc. A fashion authority, obviously. I hope it was not just him being "good friends" with the HoD and (ab-)using the opportunity to present his creation to a larger audience. Did no one in the team wonder how it would fit in with the presentation concept? If there was one besides the dress at all, that is.

Despite all the Deban´s laughing, this is actually quite sad interview.

It's actually depressing to see her like that. I hope she realizes that all is not lost yet and she still has some options. And her humor obviously, too.

There were not many problems with her English, actually. Except the translation was so incredibly bad that at first the song was called 'Break a Leg', which they later changed to Celebrate( sounds like SALAD BREAAAAAK). It was terrible all in all.
But that was not Nina's point. I don't know if you are familiar with what happened a few days after Nina announced her song-she was attacked by a few bigoted Croatian composers for not singing in Croatian, for not hiring Croatian composers and so on. Those composers were okay with Daria singing in English and not even being Croatian(she is German).
The head of HRT also didn't give her much support, he said that we should encourage Croatian composers, but now that Nina is already chosen-we support her. That basically means: we support you, but we are not giving you any money. I would be pissed too, tbh.

OMG! That's horrible. I read a couple of comments by Croatian people in youtube saying that HRT didn't support her. Thanks for clearing that.

If that's the case, my opinion stays that if Croatia doesn't qualify, HRT should only blame itself and not act like some salty Portuguese fans who blame some mythical creatures like diaspora- and block-votings.

the main problem is smth else here, smth else doesn't work well for her, vocal are not that great, she looks stiff, she isn't that comfortable on the stage, and I dunno why!

My impression is that it´s not just because of the feedback. It looks like she is not comfortable with the staging/dress herself, but she was forced to accept it by tv people.

Nothing is lost yet, indeed. We can still hope that Nina´s amazing song will win the battle with the grotesque dress. However, I don´t think they would be allowed to change it after 2nd rehearsal.
