Relax people, a change in the team doesn't equal withdrawing, nor does a tweet from someone who was just part of an act in Eurovision but technically not a part of BNT or their ESC team, I think this JJ guy just read the "rumors" and made a tweet about it thinking it's true

I think we should wait and see what BNT say, and as far as I'm concerned they already confirmed... I think this is just one of those annual ESC "dramas" about withdrawing that is being spinned out of control... let's wait and see.

I am definitely not about to cry over Bulgaria yet. After having taken a really serious approach to the contest the last years it just doesnt make sense to withdraw.
I choose to still believe we'll have another solid song from Bulgaria in Tel Aviv. If not so I WILL be sad...

I do not see any reasons why Bulgaria should withdraw based on team changes etc nor the results which they didnt want for 2018 especially the main fact they did qualify which is the most importance.

It's not the change in the team that worries me, rather the follow-up tweets of the national broadcaster. Pretty grim, but I hope I'm wrong....

Oh that's such a shame. They've had such a change in fortunes at Eurovision. I did find their latest entries a mix bag, particularly Kristians song which was incredibly bland and grossly overrated, but it still disappointing. I'm sure they will be back for 2020 though.

One of the countries that had strong entries in the recent years! I expected them to win in the future but instead of tthat they withdrew!

Hopefully there could be an agreement between BNT and EBU of possible deduction fee or even a possible sponsorship offer which could revoke the withdrawal

I was trying to stay optimistic as we had similar rumors for various countries in the past, but apparently not this time around. I can understand financial reasons, what I don't understand is why broadcasters actually confirm provisionally just a couple of months before, just to withdraw suddenly? I mean surely they must know the financial situation by then no? Also odd that a broadcaster that really did alot to reshape their image and put effort just suddenly withdraws as well. Oh wel

They were my favorites in 2016 and produced really quality entries the last three years, very sad about this news. Hopefully they will come back as strong as they have been the last years soon.

If there is no money available to participate, it's better to withdraw from the contest rather than sending disastrous and slapdash entries whose only purpose is flopping for years and years (like North Macedonia). Thankfully, Bulgaria has always recognized that and withdrew when they had no other choice. For that, Bulgaria is one of the wisest countries in Eurovision. It's a sad news anyway though.

I feel so depressed after having noticed that would withdraw from the ESC this year. Still hoping that they'll come back as soon as possible, maybe in 2020? This is such a shame to see them withdrawing after this qualification record and the wonderful results that they managed to achieve over the past few years...

Kirkorov is more or less unable to produce anything modern

But if Kirkorov producing something ok still like Moldova'18 or Ukraine '08 (the only good things he did for ESC), I'm ok with it if it means Bulgaria staying in the contest...

He's part bulgarian,loves eurovision and knows people who can produce something modern, that's why i mentioned him
