Re: BULGARIA 2016

As I said before, I haven't been a big fan of the Bulgarian entries. With the exception of 2007, their songs have been quite underwhelming and IMO, results to this date were justified. But I'm just thrilled with their return. I think that their time will come, it's only a matter of time.

BNT already said that they are done with their previous approach. The next Bulgarian song will be with an international appeal, so forget for Sofi Marinova and folklore tunes.

My biggest wish is Preslava xlove xbow but seeing Galena or Andrea or Tsvetelina would be enjoyable as well :)

Andrea is no longer with "Payner" so maybe...

The problem is that she can't sing live.

I really hope they pick Poli Genova against so the utter injustice of 2011 can be vindicated.

I had a chance to listen to her live performance this year in Zagreb and she didn't sound THAT bad. Maybe it was just one exception, but still she can do a song according to her vocal abilities.

That's true too.

Yeah, it will be a sell-out to make the anti-European juries happy... yuck

And Bulgaria miraculously qualifies after 6 years of failure... No, it would be real bad to comeback and sell out at the same time.
I understand the broadcaster somehow, they've been either butchered by juries, or ranked mid-scoreboard in both televote and jury vote, and that causes frustation after so many years (and one good placing). But I wouldn't accept that they lose their identity like most participants nowadays just to qualify.

This... ! See them qualify with a westernized ballad in English thanks to juries... it's not as if juries are hiding their agenda any more xshrug

However the Bulgarian broadcaster sorta miscalculated some stuff, if they'd gone chalga on us I think they could have managed to fair better (atleast with televoting) since it's exotic but still has a commercial appeal, but they never gone that route...

Poli Genova would be the perfect choice, since she is not doing any folklore as i know.

Meanwhile Desi Slava (who participated in our NF back in 2012) just won the last season of "Big Brother All Stars".
