Yes, basically I can confirm you that :) I really have so much experience about the Eurovision-fandom to claim that what I say is true.

Oh my god...I was creating a position so absurd to give you a chance to clarify what I surely missed, but how do you survive here if someone who doesn't share your views on every single song is either a poser or a disgusting troll?

How can 'fanwankness' be measured?

To be honest, I really don't know :/

I guess there's just that feeling of it? Like, Hungary 2011, Israel 2014, and San Marino 2013 for example while they're all rather lovely songs, they all got pushed to being possible podium placers by the fans, when they both ended rather badly.

It's more of a post-contest thing really, I suppose.

No, not even close. The songs have their own fans but they are overshadowed by that horde of snotty, snob, hipsterish fanboys who bash them all the time, because it makes them look "edgy", while those songs are too memorable for them.

So thats why they were such big commercial successes around Europe! I understand you now you twat

This post only makes sense when read with a hugely sarcastic tone. Then it sounds spot on. (emphasis on the "so" for best effect).

So Poli, well this one does not stand out for me at all really. Too many other similar sounding entries this year and this is far from being the best of them. Having said that, I still like it, so it's still a reasonable effort. :)

The Netherlands are an example of a country that did terrible for almost an entire decade but when they upped their game they got the result they deserved.

The Netherlands is a Western European, richer, country though sending jury-friendly stuff in English... sure this one might be in English (well not the chorus) but Bulgaria has other aspects unfortunately speaking against them in this unfair game of ESC xshrug

Then I don't agree with that statement in general, Bulgaria would have actually faired much better at times without juries involved and deserved much better... Netherlands was practically sending pure lame stuff until they suddenly decided to "step up their game" (and I personally think they still are, but that's a matter of taste)...

Bulgaria used to flop even when there was 100% televoting, because I can't see any people willing to vote for songs such as "Lorraine" or "Let me cry"... and don't get me start on "Illusion", which is one of the worst songs ever. Only this year, maybe for the first or second time ever, they are sending a contemporary song. So yeah, no underrations and overrations here.

Every country got its fair share of those "type" of entries you just mentioned, not sure what you're trying to argue here though other than cherry-picking the worst cases to make some sort of "point"? xshrug

So let me break it down for you, some interesting statistical facts:

2008 - 11th in semi, televoting only year (in other words, not too far from qualifying even without diaspora/bloc help)
2011 - 12th in the semi, combined vote (not too bad, still quite close to qualifying)
2012 - 9th in the semi, televoting results (would have qualified if it weren't for juries)
2013 - 6th in the semi, televoting results (same as the previous year)

So no, Bulgaria didn't always "flop" and they would have generally faired better without juries onboard blocking them... in fact we would have
had Bulgaria in the finals 3 times already if it weren't for juries... xshrug

And now taste differs of course, but I personally think all entries mentioned above deserved a much better outcome... and apparently in a couple of those cases the general public agreed aswell xshrug

In 2013 no exact split results were announced, just some average results in both sides of voting, so we don't know with certainty what are the real positions achieved by the entries that year.

Bulgaria would have qualified based on televoting results alone that year based on the method used.

It's like you have some sort of weird urge to really call them out as a flop even when there are statistics that proves that it's not as simple as you describe it... xshrug

Eventhough you personally might have loathed those entries, I just gave you statistics... now you can either agree or disagree with such results but that's how it went dowm.

Seriously A-lister, just stop with your BS that you write always all the time in this forum. These lame conspiracy theories about "juries which hate certain countries for no valid reasons" are really laughable and childish

The only childish thing here is attacking other forum members because they don't agree with your opinion, if this is your "reaction" when someone is trying to statistically "prove" you wrong then you are pathetic... don't ever say to me what I can and cannot say thank you very much... if you can't take different opinions and argue like an adult then you shouldn't even be on a socal forum in the first place.

Every forum member has the right to give their opinions of their predictions results, juries, televoting etc.

It is childish of attacking other members from giving their opinion etc. xthink

Thank you xkiss

I am totally fine with people disagreeing with me, we are not here only to agree on things, but no one has the right to attack other forum members and tell them what they can and cannot say based on disagreements. This behavior is the true face of being childish, not having another opinion (even if this opinion might in the eyes of some be silly or whatever)...

This^ is not a valid opinion, you are not the judge to state what is valid/unvalid... actually your behavior right now is the only thing that is "poisining the atmosphere".

I must say though I find it laughable to say the least how childish one's (your) reaction turn out to be when proven wrong or when you disagree with someone

There is nothing wrong with the conspiracy story he has posted above, it is just his own opinion of what he thought it will be.
A-lister is a veteran of the forum unlike you which started in Autumn xthink.

If it was poisoning the forum then everyone would be saying it but yet your the only 1 saying it and attacking other members plainly for voicing their own opinions.
