Re: BULGARIA 2016

It's very unlikely to be a song in Bulgarian. The directors of BNT want better results and a new failure won't be not received well at all. The rumours say that a foreign team with very established composers has been already hired.

Well, I liked Poli before but Preslava all the way for me ;)

I don't know if Preslava would be a good choice :/

Re: BULGARIA 2016

What? Her song in 2011 was in Bulgarian and was my favourite song of the year. If she did another rock song in Bulgarian, I would be very happy with that.

Just because I'm not obsessed with song language like you, doesn't mean I'm against local languages. That isn't even close to the case. For example, Adio in English would have been an utter travesty. Gorgeous song.

Hehe, it was just a "friendly nod" to you, since there might be a slight chance that we get Preslava, and if we'd get Poli again I have a strong feeling it will be in English this time around, but if you read my response more closely it wasn't just about language but local in general (music style that is), and Poli for sure would just be another westernized Pop(rock) song (regardless of language). Let me just be clear, I actually liked the previous entry by Poli and Bulgaria deserved much better that year, but if we have a chance for something way more exciting with Preslava then there is no question who should be chosen imo ;)

Re: BULGARIA 2016

BNT said that 80 songs are received until now, which is very good thing as in 2012 there were only 33 songs for the NF and in 2011 - the all time low of 24. And that when we take into consideration that there is not an open call for songs even.

Re: BULGARIA 2016

Well people have had 2 years to wait before submitting a song. Maybe 80 songs, but they could all be terrible. Whereas 2011 only had 24, but imo resulted in one of Bulgaria's best entries.

Just pointing out that 80 submitted songs doesn't necessarily mean better quality songs. Yes, more interest maybe, but not a guaranteed better quality.

Re: BULGARIA 2016

Apparently, the songs are only from foreign composers, so the interest by the Bulgarian composers stays extremely low.

The chances of finding a good song in a bunch of songs (30) are worse than in a plenty of songs (80) because of a big range of choice I mean...

Re: BULGARIA 2016

Its rather easy to submit a song that's complete trash. It wouldn't be shocking if, no matter the amount submitted 30 or 80 or 100, the amount of genuine good songs are exactly the same xshrug

Hmm, well crossing my fingers for Costi (Romanian) or Flori (Albanian), both produced many chalga songs...

Re: BULGARIA 2016

Sorry but why do some people want chalga?
It's among the worst music genres (so bad that its Uncyclopedia info is more accurate than its Wikipedia info) and most people can't stand it.
Also it wouldn't work since most people hate it, although it might attract some points(not much) in the televoting since it has its fans, but the juries are going to slaughter it (deservedly) because unlike televoters juries can negatively influence a song.
And finally it could be seen as a move of desperation since in some countries turning to chalga/turbofolk is seen as reaching rock bottom.

Tomorrow Preslava will release her new song "In control". It's heavily rumoured that this will be her entry for Eurovision.

Re: BULGARIA 2016

The song is in English and is the first (or maybe the second) song of her in that language. Seems that it's possible tomorrow we find out our entry at Eurovision.
