globetrotto said:Yes, Estonia is a northern country but so is Russia, Lithuania and Latvia.
When we talk about the Northern countries, they belong to the Western hemisphere, Finland, Sweden, Norway and Denmark....
Estonia might be looked at as a Northern state but with quite a stretch. It is considered as a part of the Eastern Europe. (The Lithuanian song “Eastern European Funk” comes to mind as a matter of fact.
“Baltoscandia" sounds too forced. (People living in the Baltic states can't quite get over the fact that they were part of Russia and are trying to get away from their past as “west” or “north” as possible,... which I find rather silly...)
Russia is Euroasian and in relation to Europe is considered Eastern.
Europe belongs to the Eastern hemisphere. Only both Americas make up the Western hemisphere.
