Wow, hardly anything from the good old days, seriously?

The two that immediately spring to mind

1997 - Iceland - Páll Óskar 'Minn Hinsti Dans'
1958 - Italy - Domenico Modugno 'Nel Blu Dipinto Di Blu'

COME ON GET IN THE GAME GUYS ;)

I'm not that old. ;)
My first ESC was 2006. Hah

This is pretty much like saying you weren't born in the 1960s and therefore cannot listen to the Beatles. Arguably, for me, the best songs and competitions were from the earlier years. If you haven't already I encourage you to check out old contests.

Haha, that's true, but it's much easier to find Beatles songs than it is to find whole ESC videos, with whole songs on them.

^+9999999999999... :D That's how I was able to listen to everty single one. I have to say that the 50s and the 60s, too aren't my fave decades, as there used to be too many ballads but I absolutely love the rest and still, I do have some major faves from those two ones, too. ;)

Oh, I know that. But having to search for each one and all, without having them successively ordered takes longer. ;)

Also, I can name some older songs in Eurovision that I thought were amazing that didn't win.

Yugoslavia - 1973, 1983, 1987, 1990
Germany - 1979, 1987
France - 1991
Israel - 1991

Also not so much love for Latvia's 2000 cult classic? That song got me really excited back in the day.

Absolutely! Had there been televote in 1997, I'm sure Páll/Paul would have done much better - if I remember correctly, only the UK used televote that year and they gave him 5/6 points? I remember vividly the look on my mother's face during his performance.

I'd add Spain 1995 - Anabel was robbed - as well as Sweden 1993 - the chorus is still stuck in my head, almost 20 years after (now in the age of YouTube that's not saying much but even in the pre-YT days I'd catch myself randomly singing it although I hadn't heard it for years).

But the best of the non-winning best for me must be France 1991 and 1990 - no wonder they kind of lost interest after the Rome disgrace.

seriously?
Hahaha yeah. I was seven years old back in 1991. I thought it was a fun, catchy song back then and I never stop liking something just because I get older.

However, had I been an adult when I first heard it, I have no idea what my reaction would have been. Nostalgia comes into play here I think.
