Non-qualification and a big fine from the EBU incoming. I thought : Mustii did enough to get through but that final minute wasn't as powerful as it should've been and that's what cost Belgium in the end.

We will see what VRT has for 2025.

The song was ok, but the performance was not good. That's why he failed. I have a feeling televoters tend to be harsher toward ballads (vs jurors) if not performed/sung well.

This reminds me of Sennek who also had a very good song ruined with the ineffectiveness of the staging and pitchy vocals. Dons qualifying and this not is proof that an artist is the make-or-break for a song to work.

Honestly I thought this was very weak even in the studio version and I could not understand the initial hype. Deserved FFF of the year. But I am sure you will come back stronger if you go the national final way next year. Honestly, has been sending some variations of a dark melancholic vibe for almost ten years now with last year as the only exception - and the only one with whom it really payed off was Blanche. Perhaps it's time for a change of the approach.

He was completely off key and staging was tame, I'm sad but not shocked sadly

There was a small bit about ceasefire on VRT, but only right before & right after the broadcast - even after the forking Herrey's performed again.

This is a sad miss and the official dreaded fan flop of the year, but after the performances, the chances of Belgium not making it grew considerably. The final minute? Wonderful. But the two minutes of murky, kinda off verses and then those really rather unpleasantly sharp choruses did major harm. I feared this all from the pre party performances but nothing improved. To make matters worse (or better if you live in the world of @lavieenrose and myself) it finally hit me who Mustii reminded me of about half way into the song...

Yes, Macedonian royalty, Tijana Dapčević. I recalled my incredibly incorrect top 5 prediction for To The Sky and it suddenly hit me that once again I gravely overrated the chances of someone fabulous with short blonde spiky hair. One day I will learn.

This is in my top 3 songs of 2024, but the staging was uninspired and the vocals off. It's fair that this didn't Q, even though I'm still sad about it. I'll keep playing the Studio cut tho, bcs I love it.

Belgium and blowing a cert qualifier + potential winner with a murkily put together and murkily performed 3 minutes onstage. NAMID.

A mention of the queen herself Tijana demands I bring up that "To The Sky" and Nutsa Buzaladze's "Firefighter" have the same composer. King of making dance bangers for quens who are delightfully off-putting (affectionate) and ridiculous (affectionate).

Actually, looking at this, what a resume. Darko Dimitrov the icon that you are. The man just cannot miss.

The second time for Belgium after 2018 when a great song that normally should qualify with ease is destroyed by the staging. 2/3 of the whole performance were just boring and with the last 20 seconds, which were actually great, you cant save the whole thing.

It also reminded me a bit of the case of Estonia 2016. Jüri and Mustii emanated the same kind of agressive, non-relatable energy throughout their performance.

I'm still not sure what you people are on.

THE SONG WAS BAD.

IT HAD NO TELEVOTE APPEAL.

THAT IS WHY IT LOST.

Sure him *also* being bad and the staging underscoring how much of a nothing the song is also didn't help, but the song was always a fringe qualifier at best in the televote AND EVERYONE HERE (in Belgium) SWEPT THAT ARGUMENT UNDER THE RUG. That's why Belgium NQ'd. If they had composed a song that COULD appeal to the masses even a little bit, or you know, a STRONG composition which it definitely was not, then we could have indeed hit our mark of a Grand Final Top ten.

Also um, this is not a Sennek.

Sennek NQ'd specifically because of a LACK of effort and vision, and assuming the qualification was in because the song was good.
Mustii acknowledged his song needed a strong live, literally overworked himself into an NQ'd by overdoing everything and neglecting basic needs such as, you know, sleep.

Actually, looking at this, what a resume. Darko Dimitrov the icon that you are. The man just cannot miss.

Love you to death babe but what a WRETCHED list of songs, with not a single strong composition in the mix. Maybe he too needs to retire, but at least Nutsa carried that tacky song into the final by sheer force of talent.

Good song, but bad vocal and very bad live performent. My mum and dad like this in adresse malmo, but both think the same songs was weak last day.

I expected Belgium to Q despite the underwhelming performance and that staging which was ... a choice (wtf were these microphones doing there, was it supposed to look good or was it meant to symbolise something? For me the song itself was one of the best in the SF.

Gaslighting and wishful thinking. Don't forget that before the release we were already being worked by the Very Excited Fans who heard it in preview. We were already being made to expect quality before we had even heard the first note.
