This fell so incredibly flat live, holy moly. I can understand Latvia going through instead of this.

I am shocked and sad for Belgium. Mustii's place was robbed horribly. He has a true talent for show and singing

Not unexpected at all. He had been dropping in the odds, the staging with the ugly mics was odd, he pulls weird faces, and the singing wasn't top-notch - which this song needs. As Belgium has been performing ok to great the last couple years I don't mind at all. Latvia (sort of same category, or at least only comparable thing of male ballad) deserved it more. My ESC casual friend studies audiovisual arts and she commented on loving Latvia's staging, deeming it very well-done.

In other news, VRT confirmed Eurosong will return. I'll write the article tomorrow with what we know.

The NQ shouldn't have shocked anyone after seeing the performance. Not only was he off pitch for some time, he appeared stiff and confused, and the staging looked empty and lacked any clear meaning. And Latvia came off as doing the same thing much better, even though most may not have thought the entries were similar in the first place, with the staging they were.

I could see him having saved it somewhat by "glamming it up", having dancers in fantastic outfits representing "the party" and of course wear one of the stranger outfits like in the video, himself. Instead he went for a very simple outfit with nothing special on stage and it just felt empty and pointless. I guess it goes to show how over-hyped some Eurofan favorites can be, when they just don't deliver on stage.

It’s quite remarkable that one of the biggest Eurovision fan communities in Denmark ranked Belgium as number 1 just a couple of weeks ago. Not just in semi 2, but overall!

Perhaps that tells us something about the taste among Danish fans and also about why the Danes aren’t successful at Eurovision.

There's talk that VRT switched the ESC off and if that's true there's a possibility that Belgium was disqualified which might be why it wasnt announced.

as someone who was watching the show ON VRT, i can debunk that talk as false.

also RTBF supplied the contestant this year, so any sanctions against VRT do not affect RTBF and vice versa.
