Semi 2 will have a least a shock NQ and at this point it seems to be Belgium. Unfortunately he doesn't have the range to do runs and adlibs so the final minute will sound repetitive as there is but a single lyric.
Not necessarily semi 1 didn't have one last year.

Last year was the most predictable imo, Georgia in semi 2 was the only shocking one (not that much after seeing the staging though). But semi 1 from 2023 was probably the most predictable ever, still Latvia would have knocked Serbia out if not for the neighbour voting, that would have been shocking for me.

Yeah, this going from top 5 in the betting odds to expected NQ makes sense. The hype always seemed fabricated and the performance has not much to offer.

I can see this doing a Jeremie Makiese: looking like "it has something to offer" when it was released, disappointing vocals and charisma, still qualifying despite others tried more. And around 15th/22nd place in the final.

I would deem Belgium as a safe Q.

The staging suits the song quite well and the rehearsal clip theybreleased, can't see anything at fault. After all this is the best you can get done in terms of production and dont think anything else can improve it

Me too. I think this would sneak through somehow like 2022, which is one of the biggest injustices in the contest history.

In no way this is not qualifying and it will do better than expected. You‘ve seen a rehearsal snippet which, yes I admit, didn’t make the best impression but I believe this will look and come across stunning next Thursday!

Well seems he is indeed not going for any adlibs in the last 10-15 seconds to keep it more interesting and varied? Kept on hoping he would still implement something, but guess not...

Tumblr, mostly.
Yeah the clip leaves me stone-cold unfortunately. He qualifies in 10th place, and then gets fewer than 20 tv points total in the televote, into a quiet 12th place overall based on a beefy jury score.

It is what it is.

Yeah vocally he's not great but okay it's acceptable, the staging looks underwhelming tho, the part they showed us in the clip is what should be the climax of the song but it didn't feel like it in the snippet

Belgium has dropped to 9th in the odds for semi 2. That's quite remarkable. I wonder what that's about. Only because of the rehearsals?
