This song would be much better if Axel would sing it in French. Now the song sounds insincere and corny because of the English lyrics.

OMG! 0 points. Normally I give one for taking part, but the only thing this entry did to me (and I am a mother) was making me wish I could get those 3 wasted minutes of my life back.

And for those who have missed the crazy international juries reenacting "It's a mad mad world" :

He's got a decent voice, not sure I like the song though... I'll admit it picked up towards the end though

Exactly. Good voice (though too falsetto/operatic for my likings) and a bland song which got progressively better!

It must have had a good message too, mother & all but I was too distracted to pay any attention.

Really really nice song. I think it will be a flop though :(

Belgium is now up to 5th in the betting odds, above Hungary and behind Armenia, Norway, Sweden and Azerbaijan, and they're continuing to rise on all betting agencies.

It's alright, I do see why people would like this.

I also see some resemblance to Jacques Houdek. They kinda have a similar face structure. That was actually the first thing that I thought when I saw the video, that he looks a lot like Jacques

I keep getting shivers this year from some of the songs. Axel's voice managed to do it to me. You think that would have sealed the deal for me but it hasn't. This song is perhaps a bit too melodramatic even for my tastes. The song itself is strong. It's strange because I can't work out whether i'm moved or not and that's a peculiar thing. I can see everyone was in floods of tears in the audience but everything was just a bit too over the top. The lighting was wonderful and the maturer looking dancer was a touching edition.. I don't know really. This is confusing me.

And as others have pointed out, his english spoils it somewhat. Parts come across as cliche and forced.

This is surely a love/hate melody, isn't?

Well, for me...it's such an amazing singer, seriously, this guy is probably the best male vocalist we have this year, very spectacular, very flawless, I have no complains in that department.

The song itself...well, I sort of like it: it's dramatic, it's powerful, I like the idea of having a different theme from the cliché love songs (seriously, there's even a song with that name!) or the vaguely ethnic europop, but to me it can get too corny too soon.

For the most part, I do like it and I love the idea of having sucn an incredible singer, but even if I liked it, I wish he had a better song.

8 points because I think it's quite good, just not enough to the potential this guy could achieve.

After repeated listens, I don't really like this. I can't imagine Belgium making the final with this.

But instead of a cliche love song, we have a song about his mother that has about just as many cliches as a love song. That's my problem with it I think. The performance is very powerful but lyrically it's overly simple and even these simple words don't seem to flow well out of him until we get to the chorus where the belts are so strong and powerful, it sort of makes you look past the earlier shortcomings.

I think everyones reaction to it has touched me more than anything else. It's genuinely quite moving seeing who I assume is Axel's mother in the audience.
