Belgium: Één calls for songs
Flemish-Belgian public broadcaster Één has open a public call for songs in order to select the entry that Iris will sing in Baku next May. January 16th has been set as the submissions deadline.
The materials must be submitted to the Flemish public broadcaster Één, to the following address: Eén - Eurosong kamer 2L66 1043 Brussel - or via e-mail to eurosong@een.be.

The songs must abide by the Eurovision Song Contest regulations - no more than three minutes of duration and not published earlier than September 1st 2011. Lyrics can't contain political messages or inappropriate language and no more than six people are allowed on stage.

Belgium will be represented in Eurovision 2012 by 16-year-old singer Iris, internally selected by Één one month ago. Read more about it here.

In this interview, Yannick Bovy told that the VRT just asked artist to come over, to sing something & if they were good enough they progressed to another round. He also said he was within the last three but they chose Iris after all. He also said he wouldn't mind participating.

Tom Dice also tried to write a song for Iris but he didn't sent it in because he says he's not good in writing for other voices & focuses too much on his own voice when writing songs

How do you know the entry will be chosen in February?
Everytime I ask someone from the VRT the standard answer is: the EBU gave us time until the middle of March

I don't remember now lol, most def from the Azeri press quoting her, there was quite big article. I assume they wanted to make the show in the end of February but I have no idea how it turns out in the end.
