Tomorrow 00 cet is deadline for making changes or submit a new song but the group said that they will not change anything which means...

There are 3 outcomes right?

1. Select a brand new artist with a new song in line with the EBU regulations
2. Withdraw
3. Face Disqualification

But I'm pretty sure ESC is not a focus of the Belarusian govt, so they'll use this excuse not to participate in the future. And they can channel the funds used for ESC for other propaganda activities.

I am pretty sure that ESC is pretty important for the government, at least in the past. Just look in how well they have done in JESC over the years to see that they have used ESC as a way to make the country seen with better light, to wash off the fact that they are a dictatorship. They haven't made the same success as Azerbaijan done, but they have had their bright moments in their view. Now the wind is too strong for the government to turn, so maybe in the end, they just want to troll EBU and the fans a bit by waiting out the deadline and blame us for destroying everything for them. Something I don't think the majority of the people of Belarus believe in.

Anyone with a sane mind knows this stunt that they pulled is the best form of self-sabotage.

They can always ask their best friend Putin for help.

If not, just select Kazna, since she has already sourced for a new sugar Daddy, Phillip What's-His-Last-Name-Again. Sure he'll be able to fund her entry. Lol.

I mean Belarus (and their broadcaster) don't have the funds Azerbaijan has at all, I mean they could go to their sponsor Russia, but I doubt Russia is interested in sponsoring their ESC fee though (other than securing a 12p from them?), Russia is happy to sponsor the crack-down on peaceful protesters and all that, but that's a complete different thing.

Lukashenko was skiing today and ofc made it public with journalists interview him and one of question was ofc about Eurovision

Lukashenko also spoke about Eurovision. He believes that the requirements of EBU for the song of the Belarusian participants in this year's song contest - the Galasy ZMesta group - only added their authority.

- They are already starting to press us on all fronts. Even at Eurovision, as I see. What are these guys? (group), they only added authority to them. Good PR, as they say. Well, if anything, we'll make another song. Not a question"

Sounds like they are planning an another entry then. Guess they will ask for some extra time to fix it then so that it will be a new entry next week I suppose.

It It come as a surprise he tries to make Belarus look the victim in this story. It's funny he's calling out Eurovison to promote a political cause by not letting in that entry.

It's a huge surprise he still wants to submit a new entry, though. Didn't see this coming!

LMFAO, there we go

I mean the fact that the president even is involved in the matter should be a red light for EBU not to include this country...

Shame on you, EBU!

I agree. I am surprised that he is even entertaining that thought of submitting a new entry. Perhaps @Loindici said, Belarus may not be able to afford the fines and look at their financial reserves and got scared in the end. LOL.

But having said that, "submit a new entry" could mean different things right?
Either a brand new song by the same artist or a different artist.

Let's hope Lukashenko has TASTE

I wouldn't put "Like It" and taste in the same sentence though

But apparently her new song is good (haven't heard it myself though)...

I mean she's also a soulless puppet and supporter of a fascist dictator so why not? I can see her being picked by the guy xshrug

Still don't think EBU should give them the platform though ... oh well

Yes Zena's new song is much better than her entry in 2019. (at least for my taste) - it's very K-pop! still think they will withdraw..

To be fair for Zena's supporting Lukashenko, firstly, she is a very young 18-years-old, who might see the world as black and white. Secondly, she has lived her whole life under Lukashenko's ruling Belarussia, so she has no life experience of any other kind of ruler system same as most of North Korean people have lived their whole life under dictatorship. Thirdly, many dictatorship countries are brainwashing their people, so I am not wondering, Zena is Lukashenko supporter.

And my comment wasn't for supporting Lukashenko, but for clarification Zena's worldview.
