I don't even understand this "cancel culture" weirdness... But no problem, if they want to cancel things, people, facts, etc. then no problem, I can give them the honor of cancelling them!

The funny thing is that it's all coming from white people, no black person we showed this song and performance too felt offended. They loved the song, the energy, the braids, they just love it!

Deban was even one of the first people to hear this song, since we are friends, I always send him a new Eurovision release of mine. He mentioned absolutely nothing these people on Twitter claim...
Which by their own logic would be deeply racist cuz they treat black people like kids for whom they need to protect their "rights" because they themselves can't do it. (this doesn't mean that I would consider a cultural appropriation argument coming from colored people as valid)

ah.. and the fact is that even 5 years ago literally nobody would be offended.. it's because they live in this echo-chambers and whatever they read is offensive they think is, and somehow they think they are the majority because everyone on twitter thinks so, but in fact most people in real world think the opposite, these people literally spend all day on twitter, no wonder they are brainwashed if their only source is twitter.

"they treat black people like kids for whom they need to protect their "rights" because they themselves can't do it", I find this extremely degrading and authoritarian against black people. So they basically want to control black people's lives and be their "savior". Hmm, is very sickening and concerning...

There is fine line to tread between educating people to be aware of the cultural differences and downright going on a witch-hunt and demand apologies from people who were unaware of cultural appropriation.

I saw a twitter user exposing some ESC artists for doing blackface in their local TV shows and demand them for apologies.
That's a big no-no for me. You can raise awareness and educate them. But to "force" an apology out of them when it is likely the blackface issue is not known in these artists' own countries/culture seem way too demanding.

And as for Kazna's case, that is basically making a big fuss out of nothing.

This cultural appropriation, whether being appropriate or inappropriate whatsoever, impacting Kazna and her entry is so silly. As much s I do support POC and anti-racism movements, I don't understand the point of attacking singers singing about freaking hair, even though it does have a significant and deep meaning for some cultures/groups of people.

And don't even get me started on Maxxy's tweet, which repeatedly stated that should Kazna win/be selected to represent Belarus, he/they would drag her all the way down in his/their reaction videos because of this "so-called cultural appropriation".

Bullying artists and harassing them by asking for apologies/excuses/redemption all day long, all week long is certainly not fine, and the whole Twitter eurofandom proved to be toxic once again. :)

Yes, they forced Anxhela Peristeri to apologize publicly... This is disgusting!

YES!! I totally agree. So cyber bullying is fine now? I would expect this person to be more sensible with her/their approach.

I've seen some of your tweets in the past few days, and I just can't stand the way some people are actually coming for you and asking you whether she'll change her hairstyle or the whole song.

This is some utter disrespect...

These people don't deserve my attention and definitely won't receive any answer from me. I have no time for BS and have more important things to focus on :)

And I don't care at all about what they're all saying about cultural appropriation regarding her hairstyle or the whole song: it's a bop and it should win periodt. x

Trying to """"""educate"""""" people this way on these issues can be harmful for these artists. :(

I don't know which is more Toxic
Facebook or Twitter....
I'd say Twitter. We only suffered attacks on Twitter and very minor attacks on Instagram. Didn't receive any hate on Facebook (so far)

Anyway, but the end of all this, whether we will be at Eurovision, not go beyond the national final or not even be in the national final, I will publicly thank these people for the "amazingly positive" pr campaign they voluntarily engaged themselves in and made this song be such a success :)

I was just reading over all the posts here and couldn't believe what happened to KAZNA. I first thought it was a joke uttering this hate against her because of her braids. I am deeply disgusted by this person who wrote such things. I hope that Kazna won't be discouraged and keep on working for her aims. Racism shouldn't have ONE chance in this society!

Thank you! We won't let such disgusting hate prevail!
