Stay
The story barely started
Can't you
Stay
Do you really want no part of this
Oh so sweet
Reverie
You back off slowly through the door
You always go and blame the weather
The weather

It hurts so fast
When love goes bad
Until at last
We fade to black

And I'm numb, numb
Numb, numb

Wait
I need some time to fix this can't you wait ?
We can't afford to miss this
You back off slowly through the door
You always go and blame the weather
The weather

It hurts so fast
When love goes bad
Until at last
We fade to black

And I'm numb, numb
Numb, numb

We're living in a memory
The present is the price I pay
Fade to black
Fade to black

It hurts so fast
When love goes bad
Until at last
We fade to black

They never disappoint. That said, this is one of their weaker entries, but the year is even worse, so I guess it'll end up in my top 10 ranking by default. :10:

Okay, so it starts out promising, gets a bit boring then better in the end. The arrangement is beautifully crafterd, but the melody is kind of aimless and not memorable, the vocals are very skilled but a bit too growly, the harshness doesn't suit the song all that well. I see this making top 10 easily however, jury points will be especially strong, but the undefinable messiness of the song lacks universal appeal.

It's a good song, Pretty promising for me, my only issue is Nadir's English. :10:

The first things that came to my mind when I started watching the video were "Nice beard!" and "Oh no, a ballad!".
I expected to get bored because of all the boring ballads this year, but I think this song is actually quite nice and powerful. 8 points.

This song is extremely similiar to 'Hour of the Wolf', the structure, the buildup, their voices and even their looks to some extent :D
I think this one will do similarly, middle table.

Dang it, Azerbaijan! Save the best for last or what? Amazing!!!! :12:
It’s a bit unfair though because it has to compete with my #1, Poland, which is kinda similar!
The high note at the end is unnecessary though. I have Gjon‘s Tears vibe when listening to this song, it would have been perfect for him!

The Vasil comparisons 🤡🤡🤡 I guess it's 5 o'clock somewhere

I think this is on the better side of the ballads this year (and that already pushes him to top half territory). I'm giving it a :12: (10 + bonus 2 to spite all who wAiTeD sO lOnG)

Hot take: this will do better than Poland

The piano chords were sweet, the bass was enveloping and Nadir's voice was exceptional but they were all elements that did not blend together. The result is a flat song that only manages to explode with its force towards the end. I don't know... for me this song would have all the potential to be in the Top 10 but "that something" is missing to make it possible. Maybe the odds are right to see "Fade To Black" as a dividing line
between the songs contending for victory and the others, which although beautiful, have no hope of triumph.

Good luck, Azerbaijan. See you in Turin.

The world is really depressed...

This is just generic. Too bad that Azerbaijan keeps surfing in Swedish composers, it's time to invite Azeri composers and show to all Europe what they are doing in their music scene. People don't want generic, radio-friendly and basic songs anymore. The production is good but the song don't go anywhere, and the lyrics are so cringe.

Damn, not worth the wait... It's just an okay song for me :5:

This song reminds me of our previous entries, such as Elnur’s ‘The hour of the wolf’ and Dilara’s ‘Start a fire’. Even though it is not my cup of tea, it has some potential as this is a very specific type of music. If this song passes to the final, I expect us to end up in the second half of the scoreboard. Anyway good luck to Nadir & my country 🤞🏼
