Stay
The story barely started
Can't you
Stay
Do you really want no part of this
Oh so sweet
Reverie
You back off slowly through the door
You always go and blame the weather
The weather

It hurts so fast
When love goes bad
Until at last
We fade to black

And I'm numb, numb
Numb, numb

Wait
I need some time to fix this can't you wait ?
We can't afford to miss this
You back off slowly through the door
You always go and blame the weather
The weather

It hurts so fast
When love goes bad
Until at last
We fade to black

And I'm numb, numb
Numb, numb

We're living in a memory
The present is the price I pay
Fade to black
Fade to black

It hurts so fast
When love goes bad
Until at last
We fade to black

It's like Vasil meets Gjon's Tears. It's alright. The song certainly has a climax to it (which I'd worry about greatly when performed live as Nadir sounds strained enough in the studio version) and despite being nothing we haven't heard a bunch of times already so far this year, it's not bad. Nadir has a certain charm that helps it along. It's got the potential to do well providing it's performed with the strength needed on stage.

I'm feeling kind. Here's a respectable :6:

Is it? It has Israel, Malta and San Marino in it
I don't get that argument? Those three countries could borderline qualify.
While Semi 1 has Bulgaria, Denmark, Slovenia and Croatia who are very unlike or even dead on arrival (I like Slovenia's and Croatia's songs btw before anyone hates on me).

I think it's beautiful. I'll be kind and give him 10 points for now

He will face competition from Poland and Australia though

Semi 2 is more open in my opinion

Oh its in Semi 2 never mind
it's literally on the same level as all the Borderline qualifiers (which is around 12 entries by themselves). I don't really see how Azer's chances are better than Serbia or Belgium's.

Assuming the worst, I think Azer barely qualifies and finished around 23rd place, like Dilara before him.

(all the better scenarios involve him NQ'ing :) )

Do you not think Azerbaijan has more chance to qualify in semi 2 than if they were in 1?

This feels like a borderline qualifier to me - it's not bad but not particularly remarkable either. I find him a bit difficult to understand, particularly at the beginning - genuinely no idea what he said in the first verse.

Okay I thought it was just me. I really didn't understand anything but "Fade to Black".

This leaves me completely indifferent, the singer probably doesn't even know what he's singing?
It's not bad but I don't know if this will qualify.

+3 I also can't make out what he's singing. I know people say he has diction problem when he sings English songs, so I guess this is what they meant. He doesn't have an accent but then I still can't catch what he's singing except "Fade to Black" and that's because I saw the title of the song before watching the video.

He seems like he's going to perform the heck out of it. Likely to steal votes from Poland and Australia. I don't know how I feel about the song though. First listen it didn't emote anything out of me. But it's not meh like so many others even I first listened to them. I am giving this a generous :6: when the poll is up.

I´m getting emotional writing this, but I want to thank you all for the journey through this Eurovision season this year. It´s been a lot of fun and what a way to end the the selection process. I hope you all will continue to find enjoyment in this year´s contest and that it will be a very exciting time for everyone. I give this a 7 for now, cause I spent more time thinking about the journey to this point than the actual song. (but everything sounded really good)

Take care of yourself and each other xheart xheart xheart

They would struggle in both.

He seems like he's going to perform the heck out of it.
If he performs this like "Arcade" he is in big trouble. He can sing but he can't project any emotions. And that you don't understand what he's singing makes it even worse.

Holy moly. It wasn't worth to wait at all. Nadir gets 3 kind points.

By the way this is the true "Fade to black":

Difficult to say. I'd think so, yes? they should have an easier time in semi 1 on paper. The borderline qualifiers there are less safe and there are fewer NQs.

On the other hand, Armenia.

The 2nd Azerbaijani entry ever that I dislike.

The last 20 seconds are really good, but it takes way too long to build up. The first 2 minutes are just.... empty.

:6: and i'm too generous this year.

Serious question: Does he even understand one word he sings?? xthink

I´m asking because I always had the feeling he has big trouble pronouncing the words. The song itself is really boring and much too long and also feels really fake dramatic for me, I don´t believe anything that comes out of his mouth. (n)

Sorry :az:, this was really not worth the wait and I give a very generous :3: and only because I his voice doesn´t sound that bad, but that´s it really. :(
