Neither the song nor the guy is 100% my cup of tea, tbh, even though, I know that both parts are pefect on paper.
This entry just lacks some oomph and originality, I think... whilst I love the beat of the verses, I really think that the chorus could have been more convincing. The track could have been better as well, I miss a chorus to sing along to and some ethno vibes... My Azerbaijani friend told me that he's so proud of him making use of the mugham singing style but seriously, I can't hear it. It's a well-produced but boring entry. points

Trivia: It's the first Azerbaijani entry (apart from 2008) which isn't part of my Top 10.
Azerbaijani entries ended up being part of my Top 10 from 2009 to 2018, respectively.

Azerbaijan are at failing again this year. They took an exciting artist, a master of his genre, and gave him a shitty plastic crap of disposible pop song. Like last year. Maybe they thought their failure was to nominate a girl? 2 points.

The song is terrible but no way to be NQ except they ruin everything with staging! Maybe they won't do as well as many think but still qualification is secure!

This song has grown on me quite a lot. Love the modern beat and vibe I get from it

The bridge in 2:30-2:50 will sound AMAZING live.
I think he will do a mugham style voice show off at that part and those ethnic elements will grasp many voters.


However, there's still something keeping me away from this. I am a sucker for Azerbaijani entries. They are often the ones I replay most. (Samra-Miracle is my essential for at least every week. I remember once it was the only downloaded song on my phone and I was teasing my bf by replaying it 10 times in a row to make him like it ) Even though X my heart was not in my top 20 last year, it also ended up on top of my Spotify list last year (a total of 7 hours of listening!!!!!!) Their entries are such earworms.

With this one, though, I really love it but I don't really crave to listen to it. Let's see if I'll change my mind when it's on Spotify.

The song is far from terrible lol at least it's lyrics don't sound like a 5 year old wrote it. Very chill, relaxed and chill vibe yet still upbeat. It sounds very ... modern also I'm usually not that into Azeri (last few years at least) entries but this one is really good, only singing it live can be a bit changing it seems.
