I'm somewhat shocked it performed so bad O.O I expect Azerbaijan to come back fighting next year and try to win. (thats if the EBU don't ban them for what is being discussed)

Ok Azerbaijan - take this as a lesson and stop sending dull and dreary ballads with bad staging. Please go back to an awesome up-tempo styled track next year like 2009! xlove

I only feel bad for Dilara because she was really really hoping to shine on that stage. Bad results were expected so none of us are surprised here.

Also, I'm very proud of Azerbaijan for voting so massively for Conchita!! :at: (came 3d in televoting). Too bad those stupid juries took it away ..

It even doesn't qualify only by televotes xshock

Though it's the best entry of Azerbaijan so far I think the juries are unnecessary. People won't stop thinking that countries like Ukraine and Azerbaijan will ever qualify if the juries rescued them. It's better than Portugal or Latvia, which have been qualified, but I think it was better for the image of them and of the contest if they'll fail sometimes only by televotes (I remember when Turkey and Armenie failed in 2011, but only because of the juries)

I still stand behind words that this is the best composition of 2014 edition and the best one Azerbaijan has ever sent..unfortunately some other aspects were against it..

One of the most pathetic moment on ESC was when the Azeri lady said “we give 12 points with all our love to Russia”
One of the most stupid remark was "we gave 12 points to our neighbor..." Knowing that people don't like "political/friendly" vote, they could at least not accentuate the word "neighbor"

The azerbaijani juries voted kinda weirdly with both sweden and austria in the bottom while they were first at the bookmakers. I dont know mabye they have a different music taste

To all those haters of Azerbaijan -take a look what EBU did to us this year. They were blocking the tele-voting for Azerbaijan in almost all the countries. Azerbaijan is 22nd with 100% tele-vote. Now look at the tele-voting only results for each country on eurovision.tv - In Belgium - Azerbaijan is 26th in tele voting. There are many Turks and Azeris living in Belgium- I would never ever believe that we were last in tele-voting, at least 21st, 22nd...In Hungary, Estonia, Germany, Greece we were ranked 25th in tele-voting, again the same thing-many Azeris living there. I can give you lot of examples..In almost all the countries with 100 tele voting Azerbaijan was between 20-26 in tele-voting, it is just impossible taking into account our diaspora and Turks living in Europe. I think we should submit an official complaint to EBU to give an explanation of how it is possible. I see it this way: We were ranked quite high in 100 % jury voting, that happened on Friday- EBU saw the result and wanted to 'punish' us. Unless the EBU gives us explanation, we should leave the contest where results are being fixed

No, there were 923 Azeris living in Estonia according to the latest census (2012). 0.07% of the total population. That is not much by any means.

The problem I usually have with Azerbaijan is that their acts seem to be contrived in some way or form with little to no honest expression for my standards. Maybe that is a cultural difference or a difference of taste, I don't know. I honestly thought I would like this performance more since I actually really like how this song has subtle but clear cultural references and seems smooth with an honest interesting voice. However Dilara just seemed to try way too hard and couldn't make a choice on how to convey her own song, that, combined with horrible (really bad!) camera angles made this do badly. It has nothing to do with politics or diaspora or whatever. It has to do with the beauty of art: that it's subjective(I didn't like this song, but obviously other people did since it didn't get zero points). Instead of being mad and blaming everyone, be glad that you're not cursed with always being in the top 3 no matter what you send. That would make the competition boring for all of us. Even for you.

It is in my opinion the best song Azerbaijan has entered on the ESC. However, it was the worst performance.
Dilara's vocals were quite diasappointing, and she had weird facial expressions. The whole act just felt so flat, it simply didn't work.

I agree. The song took some time for me to like. But I absolutely love it now (at least the polished version)
Her live performance was a little weak (some notes, the pronunciation, the weird smiles and facial expressions) + underwhelming camera angles, no wonder it's the lowest placing for Azerbaijan since its debut. Would you bother picking up the phone just for that? (Though it's funny how this song is considered the worst by most and I actually like it best out of all their entries.)
Slow songs can work as the Netherlands have shown quite beautifully.

I think all that b*tching about the low televoting points will get you nowhere. Just learn from that experience like any other country would do in the same situation. Complaining and whining will just make you look pathetic. And don't forget, there will always be some people liking this entry. No matter the drama surrounding it.

I love this song. xheart
I really like her voice, the flow of the song and the use of instruments used in the song.
However, I feel that her vocals live were not as good as they could be. :(
For me it's the best song Azerbaijan has given us. The fact there’s not a huge dramatic chorus makes it just remain the same all the way through.
This, the staging and the running order doesn’t made this song particularly memorable..
