I don't know what to think of this choice, tbh.

I really think that the two letters stage name is highly off-putting but I'm quite interested in hearing "Wasted Love". Pop opera could be really amazing, e.g. qualifying and ending up in my Top 10 ("La Forza" 2018 :ee:) or even winning the televoting (:it: 2015)... it could also become the most utterly horrendous piece of cheesy trash like :se: 2009, though. - I'm really curious to find out how the song will sound like... but "La Forza/Shum" comparisions made me feel very excited, even though I didn't really like his audition video that much.

Do we already know the writers? - Hopefully, Austrian writers/producers will be involved - I don't wannt to see Joker, G:son or Kempe at all!

For all German speakers:

- he and his family have been watching ESC since Conchita's victory (with some sort of buffet)
- he wants to make Austrians and Filipinos proud.
- he's 23 years old
- took part in Starmania (ORF, talent show), finalists
- born in Vienna, was raised in Dubai (where he fell in love music; his dad made him listen to classical music whilst they have been throwing karaoke parties)

About "Wasted Love":

- it will be realeased in the FIRST WEEK of MARCH
- pop opera
- a lot of strings
- "ordinary" pop elements, e.g. beats
- a "special element" at the end
- he says it's something "completely fresh/new"

Is it true that Teya was involved in writing the song?
Yes

Geschrieben hat den Song Teya, vom Duo Teya & Salena, das Österreich 2023 beim ESC in Liverpool vertreten hat, und mit „Who the Hell is Edgar?“ den respektablen 15. Platz erreicht hat.

I don't care what anyone says, for me "the most utterly horrendous piece of cheesy trash" applies to :it:2015 as well.

As for this year's Austrian entry, who knows? Halo and WWR were well-loved by the fandom, though not my cup of tea. Edgar was out-of-this-world as a studio track! Basically, no one can accuse :at: of phoning it in lately, so I'm certainly curious, to say the least.

Italy 2015 was cheese as well but I think it wasn't trashy at all and something more authentic - that "La Voix" song still haunts me in my dreams :D
