It was an obvious fanwank. Although I like the visuals and the catchy chorus.

I mean even though we share the same language and certain similar cultural aspects I’m not feeling close to :ch: at all tbh. Especially when living in eastern :at:. Not less or more close to :cz: and :hu: for example.
fair enough, I live in the western part and spent some years in Kanton Übrig, so I might feel it a bit different because of that.

I feel Slovenia is our brother from another mother.

And Austria are the German speaking Slavs of the Alps.

I did vote for :ch: 5 times though I hadn‘t planned to.

I think we should keep that to build up more feeling of neighborhood. Especially the casual viewer might then get more attached to the other DACH-entries
Good neighborhood would be when the ARD would invite us to their big Schlager shows (which ORF co- produces). Who did they invite? Italy.
Every year we give them money to sh!t on us in return.

Not sure if the target group of ESC and the ones for Schlager are still that similar as they used to be let‘s say in the 90ies.For that reason I don‘t see so much connection here. I am also not aware of what you are describing since I don‘t really watch those shows.

It's exposure, my dear. These shows are watched by millions. You know what i mean. Da gibt es Schnittmengen.

Philipp Hansa was once again pure cringe as a spokesperson. He had the same shirt for the fourth time and this speech on Miss Universe level was also awkward as ****, the only thing missing was world peace and hunger in Africa. xfacepalm

You can´t really tell me that there´s no one else at ORF who could do this?? What happened to Kati Bellowitsch?? I kinda liked her charming clumsiness, Kristina Inhof in 2017 was okay as well.

Philipp Hansa is always a disaster at every occasion. I also don’t know why he is getting this Plattform.

A bit gutted this didn't get any public points from Germany. Opening the show really wasn't ideal, reminds me of Czechia last year. Smashing the semi-final as the last entry, then opening the final and being forgotten later on. They deserved better, especially Salena was a menace and nailed the final third part of the song like a champ.

I just wasn‘t aware that the relevant Schnittmengen are that big. But yeah every form of enhancing a good neighborhood would be good

Kristina Inhof would be great. After her second place in "Dancing Stars" two years ago she also evolved as a person

Okay, I’m gonna be honest I never watched the official video before. Just checked it, unfortunately they couldn’t bring this vibe/ presentation on stage. It felt empty and with no character. Die hard Eurovision fans knew the song, but for the rest of the viewers it was not that memorable. And it’s not only about the running order.

The newspaper "Der Standard"

Of course, not the time for Teya, Salena and Edgar Allan Poe on Saturday evening. What ORF CEO Roland Weißmann - despite a solid 710 million euros from the ORF-fees in 2024 plus 100 million from the federal budget in the coming year - probably gave a sigh of relief.

Whereby: The ESC 2015 in Vienna is supposed to have cost - well: only - 15 million or a bit more. But of course only if you don't want to top the BBC stage in Liverpool. With place 15: not necessary.
