Still one of the best entries this year, vocals were good live, but the staging is a bit boring and lack the oomph this entry needs to really each its full potential so I think it's a bit of a lost opportunity for Austria for an entry that could potentially be a winner potential.

ORF most likely is not eager to win.

Yeah, staging is not Austria's strong suit. You had a couple of fine ones but overall, regardless if the entries have been good or bad, the stagings have almost been consistently mediocre at best. You have a similar issue as Poland here.

It's just extra sad since you have a banger this year. But they also look a bit unengaged performing which doesn't help either. What's with that half-arsed attempt at the choreo from the video for instance? Like girls please put some effort in, even Blanka dances better (with a more complicated choreo) and that girl has very limited talents lol

Excuse us, Austria was the most improved act in the odds after the show. They caught up with Norway who stagewise serve us little to nothing. And only for the running order Austria is crashing in the odds and under the pressure against the old men brigade from Croatia, Australia and Belgium..the irony.

The staging is obviously a job well done and they didnt Poland let to open the Grand Finale because they wanted to go big, and Poland is just a big disaster, they also didnt give it to Portugal since it's too simple and of course not to Sweden because Sweden has booked the sweet spots in the running order since they themselves decided that the running order needs to be produced by themselves.

So, thats what you get for having a Top 3 song in the fan polls that lived up to the hype and set the arena on fire. Amazingly staged. Vocally nailed. It gets satanically sacrificed on the altar of Swedish interests. Haters will always say that our hair is a mess, our make-up is crusty and we're not good enough but the truth is we are, we serve and we get shoved aside every single time.

My first action as new EBU executive is to cancel Swedish victories of 1984 (bad song), 1991 (new rules) and 2015 (big televoting loser), abolish the running order, the backing vocals and all oversized props, and then file a lawsuit against SVT and Martin Österdahl for self-serving crimes, riggory and buffoonery at European Court of Justice.

Because since we hosted in 2015, they are coming for us and we need to be coming for them.

Just received a WhatsApp from Turkey congratulating us for this show. I don't know if I should laugh or cry.

My turkish friends told me that our song is the most creative since 15 years in ESC. And disappointed that we cant win because of the running order.

Your Sweden obsession borderline on the need to seek help at this stage...

You see ghosts too?

Cancelling past Swedish victories because you didn't like them?

If we talk about cancelling past winners we should start with ruZZia and Azerbaijan that bought their victories...

Anyways you do have a great song this year, but I disagree that the staging is good. It's not awful by any means but there is alot left to be wished for here.

I do hope for a good result for Austria nevertheless. I hope for at least top 5 but we'll see... I'm afraid the juries might find it a bit too quirky for their taste and the staging like I said could be more evolved but I cross my fingers. Your constant obsessive bashing of all things Sweden is not going to make me dislike your entry (although such type of behavior can rub people the wrong way, you're hardly doing good promo for your own entry by spending all this time only hating on others lol).

Sorry but you couldn't be more off with your analysis. That staging was aces and it likewise showed in the voting. We will eventually see.

I mean it's my opinion what do you want me to express, someone else's opinion? Lol

Let's just agree to disagree here, but I think where I come from is that I really like the entry and in my head I imagined the staging differently, it's more simple and less choreographed than I personally would have done it. Some people think less is more, but I think it depends on the entry, I wanted more in this case.

But vocals were great and it's not as if the staging was bad (I never said that), I guess I just had higher expectations on it that's all (or another vision somehow).

I am happy they didnt go for the music video now. Old dudes, moustaches and office scene would have been too silly and they had different goals for each showcase. The video is more about the misogyny in music industry and the live performance about the ghostwriting and low income. It's 1977 all over again. We are shoving it down the industry and the industry right back to us. We are a confident and arrogant nation even in losing, that doesn't fall in line and I hope we never change.

Maybe we get the best result for a starter since I don't know when. Or not lol. The press polls are underwhelming but Teya and Salena are saving their voices when they show up. We will eventually fall behind Belgium and Australia with less original songs but thats the ugly of Eurovision. Biggest win is that Austria has won over so many fans and was identified as a threat. No matter how this ends.

Actually I didn't think of a staging copying the video though, that would indeed come across as a bit messy and gimmicky (as much as I like the video). It's really hard to pinpoint what I expected or wanted from it, but I wanted something more it's a bit too scaled down for the type of entry it's selling (I felt similarly to Czechia last year) and the song is quirky, at least there could have been a bit more emphasis on selling the choreo from the video which is fun in the right way.

For me they were very good and I found the whole staging to be so entertaining. They were on point vocally as well. I wasn't a big fan of the song prior to the contest, but now it has grown on me.

I will be rooting for a good result tomorrow.

I had so big epic pictures in my head regarding their ESC staging, but in the end it turned out a bit meh. They are still memorable but not enough to be showstoppers, especially with this draw.
