I was wrenching what's left of my brain cells to figure out what's wrong with the show, and I feel like I finally found it. I could watch the video of the semi on endless loop but something is not satisfying. It's not the vocals, not the dance performance. All OK1

The colour blocking is great but the showcase is red, black and white for the entire song. BUT: Unlike Finland, and other songs, this gives the impression of a lack of dynamics. For the zero dot three bridge they really should have opted for different set of colours.


In the video you have so many different scenes, that is why the video appears more dynmaic, there is the office setting with the relevation scene, the meeting room, gloomy police station and the escape. The moods vary. It's not a matter of silly vs. cool, but just how you create atmosphere and dynamics through different colours and hues. I would have though Marvin Dietmann should know better, but he in general does not really stage like this a lot.

I would keep all of the performance, but different colours

No change in typewriter scene. grander entlightening moment for the first Oh Mio Padre --> All lights on them, it is too dark!

Poe Poe Poe'ing until the Bridge in black/white and red (no black!)

Bridge (zero dot three) inverted colours (i think the negative of red is green, dunno) or at least with flickering inverts for every count

Great Escape red and white again, should be grander than it is

But it is too late and it is what it is.

Marvin Dietmann did a good job, but not an excellent job here.

In the jury final 100% better than in the semi. Seems like these girls feel no pressure anymore at this point. The abundance of red is just too much.

In the top 5 odds we are down to 11th, and only 38% Top 10 Chance. Massive drift since the RO.

The performance in the jury show was even better than in semi 2. They showed more energy, Salena seemed very relaxed, she was flirting with the camera. The camera work was more precise. Now I really like the idea of them opening the show. Of course they will lose points in the televote but this song is so memorable, the negative influence wont be that strong. The most exciting question is still how the jurys will vote. I have absolutely no clue, it can go this way or the other way or somewhere in the middle. What speaks for a good jury result is the message of the song and that its vocally the best uptempo song (maybe together with belgium).

I agree that they were better in the Jury show this time. But i still think there is a spark missing in all of this.
The staging somehow lacks energy and is not convincing imo. They are both lovely and vocally its good (especially salena is great) but i dont think it works as a whole (pls get rid off Marvin Dietmann, he obvs has enough projects and give somebody New a chance who will focus and have some New ideas next time. And hes just overrated and not very good actually)

For me it seems like Marvin Dietmann was not very motivated or just did not have that much time to think things over again. I like the overall concept, but in the details it lacks some ideas. The 0.003 part is the most expressive part of the song but like Ezio said it is staged very, very unimaginatively. What I absolutely not like is the camera work. That should be much more dynamic. Still I like watching it. I expected a nice staging, thats what I got. But I hoped for a staging with a wow effect, thats what I did not get.

Sasha Jean Baptiste is also not very good. I loved Keep The Faith and Fuego but how she is staging Switzerland every time is absolutely weird. Marvin Dietmann however is very one dimensional and conservative. He is overwhelmed with LED and light. He got Halo completely wrong or Echo this year. All he is good at is staging ballads.

let’s be real, Finland would be boring with a Dietmann staging and Sweden would never call on him.

What annoys me the most is the Part where they do the quirky dance: the background visuals are so overloaded with movement that u cant really see the choreo.
I dont get the appeal of dietmans work, i dont know which other countries He did the staging for except for cyprus which is even more basic aswell. Absolutely no creativity

he has Conchita and Cesar in his resume, and UK last year. And a lot of flops. I found UK very boring tbh.


he overuses the colour black a lot. Limits, Amen and to some extent Halo were staged like funerals. WTHIE didn’t require all this darkness and gloom neither.

Finland’s glory this year comes from the green and then the rainbow setting. It’s a welcome change. Our Song needed this also.

The dancers on the stage are absolutely useless. There are no close ups of the dancers. Leaving them at home and just put them on the LED screen would have been enough. I am sorry for them because they seem to be nice and fun ladies.
