Australia didn’t win the semi, 15th is a death slot in the 2nd half. it must have been slovenia. OK, i had different plans for Saturday anyways. Not so interested in the 2nd crowning of Loreen and us letting die in the televote

I'm starting to think that the juries might even award us more points than the public.
The jurys always are difficult to predict. Maybe they love the message of the song and in the last chorus Teya and Salena can show that they are real good singers (not too many good singers in the final actually). I also think that the jury vote could be better than the televote.

In no way Austria would have won the ESC, despite being a pretty good song but I never saw this as a contender to win (yes, being that German again bullying Austria :ROFLMAO:). It’s one of my favourites but with such opponents like Sweden or Finland, no way.

So enjoy you‘re gonna get your moment.. opening is a great pleasure! The girls can be proud, they did a great job yesterday! And despite being 1st in the RO they will get a decent place!

I am very curious which country will win the DACH competition. Still I think that Switzerland could be a jury surprise like 2018 or 2019 (perhaps not at no 1). But it also could be bottom 5. Switzerland really is not predictable in my eyes. I think Germany is quite safe on the left side and Austria too. But both not better than no 8 in the end. I think Germany will be the best of these three countries.

They have proven their critics wrong about their song.
They have proven their critics wrong about their singing abilities.
They have proven their critics wrong about their chemistry and stage presence (aka S!STERS 2.0)
They have proven their critics wrong about their staging

They will prove their critics wrong about their chances being gone because of the running order.

I have the subjective feeling that people are overly sceptical when it comes to Austria. After Vincent Bueno and especially Halo, this is partly understandable. (though I still think Halo deserved better despite the deficits).
We need to rebuild the confidence in the public we had after Conchita, Zoe, Nathan and Cesar. That takes time but the girls already made the first -difficult - steps toward that. Kudos to them - they are already my heroes!

It depends when the producers implement the break. They don’t necessarily do that after the last one of first half. Not anymore.

Yes they make their job really good. Still I think that the staging could be much better. I myself still feel that I didnt overcome last years desaster. Usually always beeing very optimistic now pessimism is fighting against optimism in my body. xdiablo
But now I am really looking forward to tomorrows show because I know that we have one of the greatest entrys, the girls will deliver like they did yesterday, it will be the best opening one can think of, the crowd will freak out and the audience at home will have a great start into the show.

I knew Austria was going to be the first to perform.

The producers ache for a good image song to open it. It cannot be ballad because "majority of audience may find it boring", it cannot be a performance with bad vocals because "it may harm the image and reputation of the contest" (why I never believed Poland would be opening the show).

They murdered :cz: Lights off, they murdered :cy: El Diablo, they murdered :mt: Chameleon. The abolish of random running order is a recipe for successful artists and performers to open the show so that the non-regular audience can be captivated to see the other performances. That's why the half allocation is a horrible execution and always kills the chances of good songs. It has never been fair and it will never be. I am so pissed!

Me too and I don’t understand their logic.
If people are really put off by ballads and bad voices at slot #1 viewing numbers must have increased by a large margin after they changed that. I have to look up if I find the numbers. I am watching the contest since 1986 and not once was I bored because of the running order. On the contrary we used to make fun when the contest started already with a trainwreck. It were good times.

I personally think their point "to make it more interesting for the viewers" doesn’t have such an impact as they make us believe and that the running order is only predetermined now to influence winning chances of a song because I think EBU tries to keep the winning rate of countries balanced.

We saw what happened to Caesar in 2018. In the semi tied with Netta, in the final 250 points less than her in the televote. And it happens all the time to those semifinalists who go very early in GF. Sole exception, Estonia 2015
