I knew this would dive when they brought a literal halo with them to Turin.

Pia can't maintain a strong enough live vocal & they're not using the pre-recorded vocals as support to their advantage. I really like the song though.

With the crowd in the arena this will be fine. I like the song much more with the deeper voice. And I like that it is staged like a dj act with the dj in the focus of the show.

juries don't judge vocals only and this is Eurovision SONG Contest, not Eurovision VOCAL Contest.

People also forget that artists like Ivi Adamou, Demy or Natalia Gordienko also qualified and none of them were at the bottom of the juries. With some neighbourly support probably.

Halo clearly doesn't sound like the studio cut (duh!) and far from a vocal masterclass but is still undeniably catchy. And clearly the atmosphere of a dancing arena will add so much to its appeal.

Still borderline but no impossible.

that snippet looks very promising. I like it sounding different from the studio version. so many bad singers went right through to the final. austria will make it certainly even if Pia Maria will not sing flawlessly. it still is a great party song and a lot of people will love it.

Since SF1 is the more open semi-final, anything is possible. I still think they will scrape through, afterall there's nothing like this song in their semi.

Austria should count themselves lucky that they are not in SF2. Pia will just need to make sure she's doesn't lose her stamina towards the end as that's when she sounds at her worst.

So I finally had the time to watch the rehearsal clip with audio and tbh the whole package, Pia + the backing vocalists sound very fine to me

I just realized that at the very end of the song in this clip one could here a big firework or the smoke jets do that sound. But it sounds to me like firework.

Actually I dont like that intro but probably Pia Maria feels safer with it. But the rest looks and sounds really great.

They could use these smoke jets at each higher note Pia Maria has to sing.

Lol no. I have lost completely my interest in this year. Everything about this Eurovision is terrible, especially for us.

Halo peaked at its release and went downhill since then.

There are only 3 songs I like less: Shine, Running on Air and Alive.

But kudos to the staging and the looks. Pia finally looks like a star and not like a random girl on the stage.
