The odds this year are really strange. At no point they acknowledged the success of Halo on Spotify and YouTube or the fan votings.
Also, ORF is certainly not a broadcaster engaging in backroom deals with other broadcasters or hiring call center agents to push their televotes.
I am concerned about the corruption at Eurovision and ORF getting handed the short stick again. We can't know if odds are fair and square but they definitely influence perception of the likelihood of success and limit the prospects of a good draw in the running order.
We have been drawn 4th and 5th in the running order in 2017 and 2018, and got zero televotes in 2017 and lost over 240 televotes to Netta, who was tied in televotes in the semifinal with Cesar.
The running order by production is unfair. This video from a Eurovision parodist states this pretty clearly.
'Sup my Juicynoodles, did you know that the running order cannot actually run? It doesn't even have legs! haha.. *jumps off cliff*► Instagram: @xranx97 h...

If Austria manages to eek out a qualification to the GF and then gets handed first half again, it's very likely we get a very early draw again or even open the show. Because odds say we are doomed to fail already.
And then are other countries that always get wonderful draws, Sweden, thanks to their influence, and now also Netherlands, with their Head of Production, who already made sure S10 gets the best possible draw in Semi 1.
Speaking of odds, last year the semifinal qualification odds were very precise. Amen was the only country from semifinal 2 not to qualify, ranking at 10th place.
Now, we are 11th. However, countries before us could be passed though. Switzerland is drifting and is a powerbottom in every ranking, Latvia, Albania and Moldova don't look like shoe-ins to the GF neither to me. So, there could be more "surprises".
I think how ORF handled Eurovision 2015 wasn't pleasing to the EBU executives. I am not sure if it's true, but I have read they drew the running order in 2015 by themselves without "help" and they also contracted their own scoreboard provider, which was a great idea btw., because this was fresh break from the routine.
At least, we won in 2014, so I can die happily ever after. I am not counting wins to catch up with Ireland.
But given the effort that ORF puts in, our mistreatment is really discouraging.
I would concede though, that we shot ourselves in the foot the last two years with Vincent Bueno and his beige entries. The perception of Austria being a powerhouse was gone. If we had Hold Me Closer as our entry, I couldn't see ourselved on top of the odds, but if Halo were to represent Sweden, they would still be seen as a Top 3 contender.
