Again, you don't always have to see the black and white with everything. Like Conchita herself said on BBC Three there's different shades to every person! I personally choose to call her a she because I like to get into the spirit of the character. If you don't want to go along with it and have a little bit of fun then 'he' is fine

Maybe they are thinking he wants to be seen as "she", he feels like a "she", so they are polite.
I though also he is transgender, but I read on this topic he isn't, he's just an entertainer, he's a "she" only on stage.
