I just glanced over the televotes and if I'm not mistaken Estonia is the only country that didn't put Austria in the Top 5 (they gave it 3). Other than that I believe everyone gave the Queen of Austria at leat 6 points.

I'm not surprised :ro: gave 8 points to :at:, Austria's entry was memorable, but how come :at: gave 8 points to :ro: ? that was a surprise.

off topic: btw, I find Mrm sympathetic :)

Romania was high in televote and 3rd in jury vote.

OMG, We have a really, really huge public talk about Eurovision in Poland. Some of our reactionary and diehard politicians are making me a fan of Conchita, lol.

I'm watching a tv show about Eurovision on a Romanian channel:

- the jury appreciated Conchita?
-yes, we gave good rank to Austria (7th place), but personally, I couldn't watch her, I had to close my eyes and just listen the song, it was ok, good orchestration, good vocals, good performance.

I guess those juries who place Austria low were really distracted by the beard, felt a visual aggression and couldn't listen anything :)

And then we have the big bunch that voted for it mostly due to the act and not so much due to the song (which I still think would have NOT won had it been a standard act singing it).

This song would have won if a lady with a voice as great as Conchita's was singing. As I have mention many times it wasn't for Conchita... if she had a trash pop song or joke entry or commedy she would have flopped

There was the big bunch telling us that Conchita has no chance with a beard, and now there is the big bunch who voted for the beard and nothing else.

It's just a stupid bunch of ridiculous excuses, if you asked me.

Where are the bunches who voted for the hamster wheel, the trampoline, the seasaw, the hologram, the running child, the boobies and the lyrics on screen?

I also think Austria would have won if Thomas was singing, without playing a drag queen.

Isn't disgusting to compare countries based on how many points they give to Conchita!? xpuke

as always..."euphoria", "hard rock hallelujah", "satelight" would never have won with a standard act, performance, staging...

Apparently Conchita will appear on The Graham Norton Show this Friday, she won't be performing though.

I really thought you have more modern taste? :? Now without kidding..

Before ESC you told here that you dislike the song, and that it's unfair that one to win just because it's transgender..

I really dislike when ppl like you change opinion just because majority (for example of this site) think like that..

I will always stay with my opinion, like A-lister does xbow

And this singer has 3 songs in the career, that is hardly a singer! Does have any album maybe?

If for instance Sanna Nielsen would have sung it, I don't think it would have won. That is my honest belief. I read so much comments and praise, but most focused on the act and some supposed "message" sent rather than the song itself xshrug

The song is and will remain a mediocre attempt trying to copy some 80's campy Bond song xshrug

I think Euphoria would have won regardless (it's not wonder it became the biggest ESC success in years, and that had to do with the song being up-to-date and a great Pop song). As for Satellite, the same case, just a catchy contemporary pop song, there was nothing about that performance that made it stand out... on contrary it was a very scaled down standard performance... so I can't see the comparison? xshrug

As for the Finnish trolls, yes I think that was a case similar to Conchita were the act/performance may have been the reason for the victory rather than the song itself.

And Emmelie De Forest and Loreen wouldn't have won either if they came on stage in tracksuits. It's the whole package people are after. Conchita's win was overall to do with how good a song and magnificent a performance it was. It's actually quite miraculous how Europe was able to look past the beard. I said day one it was a song of winning quality and thank goodness the WHOLE of Europe came together and voted for it.

It's an empowering song with a strong message.. but most importantly, the production is damn fine. If Conchita had sung a cheap, synthesised dance song, i'm pretty sure we'd be looking at a different winner.

what comparison? it's just a map with the results, for those who have visual memory :)

But then some members here compare countries based on that.. xpuke

I fail to see what you see here? Vocally he did good, but the performance was no difference than let's say Sanna's? Well it was ONE difference... a beard and a media hype regarding everything BUT the song...

I still don't think this song would have won without that hype, I really don't xshrug
