I was told at six years old
They'd avoid me if my heart was cold
Found it hard to talk and speak my mind
They'd never like the things that I would like

'Cause you're told to play, but you're not the same
As the other kids playing the same game
Tried to jump on in, but they push away
So far away

I'm not the same, no
I'm not the same, no

Years go by, I tried and tried
My father asked if today I smiled
I said, "Yes I did", but that's a lie
Oh, I always tell those lies

And you run and hide, hide the break inside
Do you realise that the light shines bright?
Through those, oh, who broke inside

I'm not the same, no
I'm not the same, no
I'm not the same, no
I'm not the same, no

'Cause you never want to be a kind of person
You can work it for those ones who cannot word it
Because you've been the kind of person who felt this pain
Yeah, I felt this pain

So you're gonna leave the pain and find another way to make yourself another game
Maybe one for all to play
'Cause it's not just me who's not the same
We are not the same

I'm not the same, no
We are not the same, no
We are not the same, no
We are not the same, no

I'm not gonna say anything was rigged but having a voting system that so heavily benefits the jury favourites is an awful choice for a NF. Voyager may well have won a proportional televote by more than 13 points. I'm fact they would have won had the same system been used for the juries. They have a right to be pissed off at this result.

I think this nails Poland's main problem yeah. Ochman looks like he's about to deliver a eulogy at your dead dog's funeral. But I do think his problems are fixeable, at least. Staging can be improved and if tvp is smart they'll coach Ochman into appearing more likeable when in front of a camera.

(I also don't think Ochman is coming top five lmfao calm down. "River" is disjointed and amateur, juries are downvoting that on SIGHT even without seeing the "16. POLAND #POL" at the bottom of their screen.)

There's no "fixing" australia here. Australia's package is complete and you either love or loathe it. Divisions like that are a bit scary if faced with juries (especially juries from Eastern Europe - i can't imagine Azer, Romania or Serbia loving this), but I do think he'll do fine enough in the televote (and by fine enough I mean to say "qualify" because lol Australia topping a eurovision televote is never happening ever.)

As much as I dislike this choice, it was a smart one from a competitive perspective (then again, Dreamer also qualifies easily) so there is that at least. You'd better NOT rob Brooke along the way though.
Just want to clarify, Ochman was sick before and during the performance. He had to postpone some of his other concerts to be able to sing during the selection, but it wasn't even certain that he would perform live at all. He isn't usually like that on stage, but being really sick with high fever and all that certainly doesn't help one's stage presence. I suggest you watch some of his other live performances

As for the Australian selections, I think I am literally the only person, who doesn't like Voyager's song. It's just absolutely not my type of music, so I was really delighted that Sheldon won. He is amazing and at the moment probably my number 1 out of the 20 songs released so far. I can't wait to see how they will revamp the song before May (Australia always revamps their entries).

If the juries' points are allocated as the same way as televotes, here's how the overall results will look like.

ArtistJuryTelevoteOverall

Sheldon Riley5050100
Jaguar Jonze6040100
Charley353065

Seann Miley Moore15520

*Not sure how the tie-breaker will work though. I assume Jude won the tie-breaker.

Actually Boris, I think Australia's got A LOT to fix with their staging when they get to Torino, so I don't think this entry has maximized its potential. Sheldon can also do better vocally

Just wish the song was a little bit more dynamic. It feels like the beginning of a chorus, but straight from the start and for three minutes long with no climax.

That being said, I like the fact that Sheldon will go to Eurovision. He is a good singer, talented and artistic. It's just the same feeling I had with Melovin for example: if you know someone is quite special and artistic, you just hope that they go to Eurovision with a good song that really fits them and let them shine.

But as I said earlier, I do think Sheldon will still get a good result. There might be some fandom for him, and if not, juries will save him anyway.

But for a exceptional result (so top 5 or better), he needs either a song revamp or a really creative staging. And maybe even both.

This hopefully means Ochman will be better in Turin. I didn't care for the live in Tu Bije Sercije, but I could see mildly liking it when the contest is over.

I thought Sheldon sounded good? But yes *I* would get rid of the stupid mask, the bad clothes (I'd especially burn those awful glasses and metal face things he insists on wearing), the horrible music, and give him Voyager's song, because that *would* improve it by a ton, but eh. Sheldon is a self-proclaimed "Artiste" (you just KNOW he spells is that way unironically), and this is his style. I'd doubt he'd change and I'm fine with that. I certainly don't want him to do well in Turin :-)

By the way, I really don't understand all the praise for Voyager. Well, maybe for the studio version, but live It's just vocally really weak.

- A ballad without melodies and climax it's like me eating something without taste. So there is nothing about the song itself I can enjoy.
- The singer trying so hard to show his vocals in order to cover up the poorness of the song, but by doing that he gave me headache.

This is actually one of the worst entries I've ever listened to. :0: for me.

Sorry, Australia, but you chose the wrong song... 4 points from me and I don´t see this being a grower until Torino

A decent entry with a great singer. Based on the comments I expected it more boring but it actually kept my interest during the whole performance. I don't know if they had better songs but I'm certainly not happy with the way it won.

With the way this year is going this is probably qualifying and it can do pretty well (lower top 10). For me, it isn't something I will listen to again but it is from the better entries so far.

The dramatic mask removal 💀💀💀

Weak selection overall. I would've preferred Voyager...

The Not The Same live performance was just vocal flexing over and over and over, nothing from the song stood out. Someone on reddit said "I remember what it looks like, but don't remember what the song sounds like" and I fully agree.

This is not going to solve their televote issue, but the jury should be enough to Q.

i thought danny sounded great. I noted in the discord however that dreamer would have benefited from backing support. It definitely would have sold the atmosphere more. (and why not? if the contest allows it)

Good performance alright, sort of daring in some ways, but i don't like this type of song or the arrangement (damn "clunky" piano that's in every damn ESC entry nowadays, why don't they get someone who can actually play?) and i find the whole song very hard to remember after i've heard it, which is probably not a good sign. I think this will end up lower half in the final.

Thank God Dreamer didn't win. The live performance was not as good as the studio version and it's basically a normal rock band performance. Try harder next year.
