I was told at six years old
They'd avoid me if my heart was cold
Found it hard to talk and speak my mind
They'd never like the things that I would like

'Cause you're told to play, but you're not the same
As the other kids playing the same game
Tried to jump on in, but they push away
So far away

I'm not the same, no
I'm not the same, no

Years go by, I tried and tried
My father asked if today I smiled
I said, "Yes I did", but that's a lie
Oh, I always tell those lies

And you run and hide, hide the break inside
Do you realise that the light shines bright?
Through those, oh, who broke inside

I'm not the same, no
I'm not the same, no
I'm not the same, no
I'm not the same, no

'Cause you never want to be a kind of person
You can work it for those ones who cannot word it
Because you've been the kind of person who felt this pain
Yeah, I felt this pain

So you're gonna leave the pain and find another way to make yourself another game
Maybe one for all to play
'Cause it's not just me who's not the same
We are not the same

I'm not the same, no
We are not the same, no
We are not the same, no
We are not the same, no

For anyone who wants to be spoiled, here is the recap from the Jury show.

Can I say, most of the acts sound pretty shaky in their vocals. Not sure if it's the sound system problem or what. It doesn't look like it's that great at the moment.

And Andrew looks DAMN hot! Still rooting for Jude though.

So I guess when I wake up, Australia will have its representative (it will be on at 4:30am my time while I'm still asleep)

This is the only NF that I won't have to wake up in the wee morning to watch it. Lol. It'll be 5.30pm my time. Haha.

The vocals are all very shaky and not good at all (even the vocals from Voyager aren't convincing here in the recap), the only good vocals came from Paulini, but the song is so forgettable. I hope that the performances tomorrow will have better vocals ... *fingers crossed*

Oh my... I´m shocked. Most of these performances were utterly abysmal.
Actually, I was really looking forward to this national final due to its diversity, variety in sound as well as having a huge favourite in this one (Voyager).

But they all sounded really flat. Many shaky notes - Poor audience and juries alike!
Even as a fan, I wouldn´t be able to rank this mess.

The only guys who were really able to sing: Sheldon, Isaiah and Paulini (her song is trash, though). After seeing this recap, I would say: Let Isaiah represent Australia again but ditch Evie - she was like the worst vocalist.

Sheldon´s outfit is a mess - he has worn that mask many times; Jaguar was a mess as well (even though I really liker her song).
"Dreamer" sounded alright but the lead singer needs to control his voice in a better way ASAP.

Honestly, I can totally see Australia heading towards another NQ if they don´t send Sheldon - based on this recap.

After seeing the rehersals:

1. Paulini
2. G-Nation
3. Isiah & Evie
4. Seann Miley Moore
5. Sheldon Riley
6. Andrew Lambrou
7. Erica Padilla
8. Jaguar Jonze
9. Charley
10. Jude York
11. Voyager

Sorry but Sheldon's performance was shakey and not nearly as impactful as it could be with such a strong song. Paulini overall gives me a bit of Eurovision nostalgia when Eurovision had more powerful disco-pop gay anthems, she does it super well, love it.

I know people have a hateboner for Isiah but I think the duet works incredibly well as the two have chemistry as artists.

Overall this NF is so strong it makes me sad only one entry will go

Did you forget about Jude?

I think Sheldon will win and represent Australians with ease, but this is something I noticed when listening to his song.

Sheldon's voice is like a donut: it's wide and fills the edges of your ears, but sounds hollow in the center. I feel his voice spot is on his throat, hence the sound. It may resonate with other listeners but I feel it kinda brushes off the vulnerability.

Who I think would get the best result at Eurovision:
1. Sheldon Riley (big with the juries, might be some fandom for with the televotes)
2. Jude York (surprisingly good with juries, decent or bit weak televotes)
3. G-Nation / Jaguar Jonze (a bit of both, mostly televotes)

I know some people liked the studio version from Voyager, but that live performance.. Ouch. Misses everything.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who think the performances are pretty lackluster and the vocals are just not good. Some people say it's an recurring issue with Australia Decides. I'm not sure is that true as (surprisingly) I've never followed their NF, which is weird considering they are the closest to where I'm at in terms of location and of course timezone. Lol.

Actually Andrew sounded really good in his verses considering the type of song. But he looked kinda static despite having the dancers behind him. Feel the performance is going to be really weak.

G:nation and Seann looked and sounded like a trainwreck. Same goes for Voyager. Jaguar and Evie sounded the worst. Erica almost the same too.

Paulini while sounded good, she's flat in some parts. And what's with that messy staging. Same goes for Sheldon. Very hit-or-miss. Isaiah sounded great too but the song is just a big no and his partner is the weaker link. Charley's performance seems like a non-event.

Think Jude surprised me vocally but the part before he went for the big note sounded really awkward.

Hopefully they will all improve today. But I wouldn't hold my breath.

Anyone but Sheldon plz. He seems to be trying way too hard from the jury clip.
On the other hand, Paulini has really surprised me. There’s a real easy joyfulness to her performance.

In the past there have been different opinions between people who were at Australia Decides live and those who just hear it from any of the broadcasts. Those who were there live had no issues with how it all sounded, which those watching from elsewhere did and it has been claimed that this is because the event was set up to prioritise live acoustics rather than what sounds good on broadcast.

Don't know how much actual truth there is to it (seems to me it would be such a weird choice if true), but I wouldn't be surprised if I hear bad mixing again.

Let's be honest: Sheldon will be the winner, but I will still enjoy seeing this show. I just hope that all the vocals won't be as shaky as yesterday! :)
