Re: AUSTRALIA 2019

I am really upset they took this year the place of the real European country - Romania, kicked them out, making them not qualify for the first time :( If it were not for this poor Australia's act, Romania with their much more classy performance would have qualified. Just not fair. So I really hope they finally withdraw.

Absolutely. I liked Romania's entry very much and can't understand Australia made it. It was just not fair. T()

Romania had one of the lamest songs in the contest, they deserved their non-qualification.

Now I'm not very happy about the jury bias in favor of Australia, but "kicking out" one of the most boring and pointless entries of the edition I'm all for xclap

Please please please don't go with the "Sony Music / talent show contestant / DNA composition / generic midtempo pop or ballad" combo again, SBS. It's literally all we've done for the last four years (apart from year #1 not being DNA), and it's getting very repetitive. We're more Denmark than Denmark at this point. :?

Especially since Denmark actually WEREN'T Denmark this year.

With an actual good song and with an actual charisma then yes... but I doubt the entry will be good and I doubt she finally found charisma...

i love sound of silence and dami's awkward but genuine presence

i doubt she would do this well again though, specially since australia needs to prove they can actually find another good song

Re: AUSTRALIA 2019

There's also the original TV Tonight interview that the Wiwi article was based on: https://tvtonight.com.au/2018/10/australia-returning-for-eurovision-2019.html

Pretty much the same stuff, though. Essentially:

  • Yes, we're back
  • Hints at an NF, with SBS planning on "announcing something in the next month or so" on the topic
  • Eurovision Asia has "proven too geo-politically difficult" for now, leading SBS to instead put its effort into "this other idea we're planning to announce soon" (maybe the aforementioned NF?)
Fingers crossed that this leads to something good!

Re: AUSTRALIA 2019

As long as they send an entry I like as much as the previous 4, I don't mind how they're doing it xheat

Re: AUSTRALIA 2019

right I have a feeling if this NF is happening its going to be BIG! I think it will be some big names competing. Not like most NFs who have randoms.

I really do think they will go big. Some big names competing against each other. I think it could be a positive thing for Eurovision. They could influence other countries to follow suit
