Imagine the fanboy-drama when this wins tomorrow night xheat

What drama? Seems like alot of fans like this basic ballad and want Eurovision transformed into Anglovision-with-safe-Pop-songs-wailing-contest xshrug

Well I like it too and I think this would be a deserved winner
But there are certainly enough people who wouldn't be happy about that (like you) - Which is ofc completely ok.
"Australia is not a part of Europe" is just not a valid argument against an Australian victory.

Would be great with an Australian win and not the least a very interesting hosting next year. Hopefully not in cooperation with the UK or Germany but rather awarding a good country without recent success. Why not Portugal or Spain, or Iceland, or Albania?

And you think EBU will go for a host that is either poor, small, poor and small or in economical crisis? Doubt it...

I don't see what's so interesting with hire Germany or UK (or maybe Netherlands or France) to host? xshrug ... and the song is not worthy winning so regardless...

It's a valid argument, but now I am talking solely about the song though and I personally don't find it anything special, just a basic ballad that is overhyped in particular by the EBU themselves. Trust me, if I'd liked the song I would root for them (I always think the best song should win period regardless of country)... doesn't change the fact that I don't think they should be in Eurovision but that's another discussion really.

She was nothing of the kind. She had lots of flaws. For one thing, she wasn't sensitive enough to tell singing from screaming. For another, she was emotionless. What kind of a singer is that?

This!

This is this kind of overproduced safe Pop ballad without any real emotions what-so-ever and sound like it's from 2005... I honestly don't get what everyone are raving about... xshrug

Ballads should speak to your heart, otherwise they are kinda pointless imo. This is like directly from American Idol school, no feeling, pure product.

Haha You cracked me up

I agree that - despite her perfect performance - she had kind of an emotionless face. xthink Maybe because she was stressed, we'll see tomorrow.

Absolutely!! Altogether it's just extremely dull! The song bores me to death + the staging doesn't do anything for me too! And those high notes, I don't know...

Guy Sebastian was sooo much better! He had a great song and he was a great entertainer on stage!

I call it the Whitney Houston syndrome. Some people need some amount of screaming to believe they are worth their while. To them, it all comes down to circus abilities and it doesn't matter if they have heard it a thousand times before, oh no.

Note, Whitney Houston, rip, could "scream" quite well. This Korean lady not so much. Apparently though, she'll do for the moment xshrug

Well, if one is to be fair, and I try to be, that might have something to do with her Asian features. Asian people do seem expressionless to us. I think there's more to it than that though xthink

Come together

Go away, Australia. We don't like you. We don't care how passionate you and your fans are for eurovision. Piss off, no one likes you.

Stop this and come here for a hug La Bombe! xrunhug We were talking about your entry and wondered what was so great about it to consider it a contender for victory.

Personally, I think the song is objectively pleasant to listen to, Dami did a great job in the semi last night and people rewarded her for that by making her qualify :) However, I don't understand why Sound Of Silence is better considered than other ballads in the final. It's just that. There's nothing wrong with it, but nothing special either for me.

If Guy eventually reached 5th place "only", I doubt your new effort would do better, but I'll certainly be proven wrong tomorrow :D

Unfortunately I doubt. She performs a bit early and before her main competitors - Russia and Ukraine. That's a huge bad luck - to get 1 half - in spite of Russia and especially Ukraine with the best draw to win.

Last 2 winners have been first half. No reason this can't win. It probably won the jury vote tonight.

I'm pretty sure that if Australie wins, SBS and the Aussie government will do a huge lobbying towards the EBU to get the right to host the contest in Australia :p And they will get it, because the EBU has now a very friendly policy with Australia.

This is pure power ballad and that chorus is amazing. Her voice is totally flawless, I've not heard one like it on the Eurovision stage for a long time. I really like Dami, she's more committed to Eurovision that most of the European singers, and she seems to really appreciate the Eurofans. This song would be a deserving winner and if it does win, which is very possible, I hope that the Contest goes to Sydney. In my view, the winner deserves to host, whichever country that may be.

Final Verdict
:au:
12 points
Position I want: 7th
Position I think: Runner-up
