First listen I was "what is that", and after two or three times I fellt in love. Seriously this is the most modern song in Eurovision. It is so good, well-produced and the part before uuuuu is perfect and gives me goosebumps

I really hated this one at the begin... I still think her voice is annoying and her English is really I don't know. :D

But now I actually think this can win with a good staging. The music is great, modern and full of tension.

I think while most entries tend to be really radio-friendly this year and have the potential to fall flat live, Armenia and Serbia were tailor-made to be performed on the stage and will "come alive" (to quote Iveta herself from her song:D)

Surely my favorite for this year. I agree with the comment above that this is made for stage! And I can't wait to see the preformance.

This song is really great, my sixth most favorite song this year. And I really think she is super beautiful. The video is simply impressive... I usually dislike Armenian entries, but this year they blew me off with this!

The music isn't that bad, especially the chorus, but all the rest annoys me to a point where I have to force myself to listen till the end.
The spoken part in the beginning with this wannabe mystic ambiance, the long howling tone in the first part that always makes me wonder if there is a firefighters car driving past my house, the pressed and unnatural way of uttering out an obscure flow of words that are not understandable and that destroys the beauty of the voice of Iveta, all these elements that do not form an ensemble of a song but that appear to be put in for the sake of putting them in.

I'm surprised though that so many like the song (obviously sincerly) which is a beautiful example of the difference of taste and it's great to have songs in the contest that give us such a wide spectre of musical expression. So even though I absolutely dislike the song, I'm once again proud of eurovision as a great musical forum.

(Just a little clarification for some members of this forum seems to be necessary after what I've read recently in some threads here: No I don't HATE the song, I DISLIKE it, therefore don't call me a hater. No, I don't hate Armenia nor armenian people nor armenian forum members. No, I don't hate female singers.)

This is still one of my biggest growers of the year... it's come up from my mid-twenties and reached my top 10. Plus it seems like she's very much capable live. Hoping to be amazed by this in May!

Do you dislike them though, same as song? Just felt curious as far as clarification was concerned and thought I'd ask... :?

I get this now after seeing it live in the Moscow vid.Its not made for the studio version, its made for the live stage. It just drips power and class. The opening sucks you in and the vocals seem almost ethereal and low key.Your simply not prepared for the air raid siren cranking up as it then makes you focus 100% on Iveta and thats the difference live. Its designed just for that. The melody then sweeps you along and the subtle ethnic moments are mini bridges and hook you until the main beautiful instrument bridge. The power leaving that bridge is stunning. The climax just leaves you wanting more, much more.
Iveta will need to be careful not to be too diva,as being too powerful can put off televoters, but get the look right this will fly.

The clarification was needed for a number of forum members who obviously deduce the most absurd assumptions from a negative statement about one specific song. So disliking a song does not imply I hate (or even dislike) Armenia, armenian people forum members or female singers.

And why should I?

The mere assumption that I dislike Armenia because I don't like this years entry is quite offensive cause it tries to label me as a racist. But replies from certain persons in other threads (not only to my posts) show that this is quite a common routine for them. I wanted to block these from the very beginning - thus my clarification. Because I find this narrowminded, aggressive behavior really tireing. I'm here for exchanging views on music.

You don't like this which is a very interesting and misterious song, rather you prefer the Russian one which is old fashioned and tacky.

I guess I have to respond considering this applies to me as well.

To me, the Armenian song is so artsy fartsy, it just tries so hard to be different, it's really off-putting to me. It could have been really good but just falls flat. And I also love the Russian song, though everyone is off the hook disliking it as I can totally see why people don't care for it as it's quite cheesy. Overall, there are so many songs this year, that are trying so hard to be "different" and "unique", it just doesn't feel genuine to me and Armenia is one of them. I can see why people are going for it, but it's just not for everyone. I'm totally gravitating towards the 'fun' songs this year for that exact reason.

And that's the same reason of my opinion towards the Russian entry which is trying SO HARD to sound like a winning song, like he has got it all just because of this well produced multimedia for his video, in resume it's a very pretencious entry, more than any other this year, but it falls short.

I love the fact that these entries "are trying so hard to be different this year" there's a few complaining about "cheap uniqueness" as you catalogue it this year.
The reason of why i think Armenia should win it's semifinal is because Lovewave seems to be a very interesting and misterious song, it got me inmeaditely i heard it for the first time, all the opposite happend to You are the only one which is a bad spin off inspired in 2006.

Do not be so pathetic. People have to realise the difference between subjective opinions and objective facts. Nothing gives you right to criticise who likes what and not. Besides I'd be glad if you used proper size signature.
