ARMENIA 2012 - Not taking part

When I say that is what they wanted I mean that Azerbaijan wanted to win the contest. It's pretty obvious that if Spain had sent Running Scared we would not have reached top 10 (the first reason because I may think the same as you, and the second reason -and apologize me for it- because the song was awful, and not your country which i think it's wonferful). Is there anybody who think that it deserved to win? Whatever, you won. And now I have to read that Armenia, which has been one great country in ESC has not taking part due to security reasons. It was not only predictable but I also feel sad for it.

That politics stuff or Georgia in 2009?

Hahha for me, as long as they dont insult peoples or religions or cultures, they can sing about anything they want!!!
But when countries have conflicts and claiming parts of their countries, they should banned from the contest till it's solved. So that they can join in peace!

Then Russia & Turkey should be banned as well Belarus

I personally don't agree with wlhlwn's idea (I read it too quickly, I thought he/she first meant the hosts not just all participants), but I think that there should be stricter rules on hosting however. I mean if there's a ban on some other ESC country's citizens to enter the country in normal conditions (not just for special occasions), then you're not ready to host this I'm sorry.

its a music contest. a unity contest. countries need to seperate politics and cultural differences and just have fun. it should never be taken too seriously. its supposed to be fun.

georgia learnt from this in 09, lets hope armenia and azerbaijan learn from this in the future too

ps. i wonder what would happen if azerbaijan won again?

Wait, wait, wait, wait... If I got this right (according to Wiki), Azerbaijan actually bans the entry of Armenians de jure? And not only Armenian citizens, but of those of Armenian descent? Guys, I am sorry, but this is serious. Wow.

Anyways. I'm deciding not discuss on this any longer.

Some in here are apparently happy and can't leave their political agenda aside.

I think it's sad for Eurovision that politics and money controls so much, unfortunate but that's how the world works.

I think I added my opinion and that will be it. Welcome back in 2013 Armenia (well won't happen if Turkey or Azerbaijan wins I guess, but if someone else wins )

It's a pity. I usually like the armenian songs. But i kinda understand them.

And it's sad to see how some people are happy with this.

i told you!

anyway, its shame they're not taking part but honestly the only reason i can find is that no one from Armenia wants to go there.

Guys, look, I am from Serbia, OK? Trust me, I know what conflict and war is. And I know how difficult it is to find out the real truth (if it exists at all), so I am always very cautious with this kind of things. So I am not going to jump on any conclusions here.

I just feel sorry that Armenians didn't think that it is safe for them to be part of this year's ESC.

Now I have red this too.

A-lister!

Oh well, the whole conflict is tiring, but it's sad that people scream of joy about this news, that was was caught my reaction in the first place, quite disturbing behavior imo.

I agree!

Re: ARMENIA 2012

So far I see no sources. Just sourceless

Oh, I see you're trying to blame me in supporting someone! (and again going personal)

Screaming of joy (which is drama btw) is not prohibited. There were people who were balming "cruel Azerbaijan" too.
I can simply close the thread like eurovision.tv did or ban people. I won't allow people attacking countries and labeling me as someone who supports one side :)

Yes better close the thread!!! It will be only have comments about politics and not about music...
It's sad Armenia will not be in Baku, but its just the way it is now :)
See you next year!

I guess agree, but then again I'm against censorships. But yeah, maybe for the better.
