Really silly.... Since I see Armenia's thread I'm still getting angry and it will last along this year.... Actually I'm bored and angry of Armenia 2012 decision... hate !

I don't mean I hate Armenia and Armenian friends please understand me.. I hate TRT and but now I hate ARM TV more !

Guest what, Armenia will think after singing in semi final too. They will say, we need to think if we want to participate in final or not (no matter if we are in semi-finals already). I really getting like the Armenian organizers with their thinking mind :D
They will keep us tuned till final.

Re: ARMENIA 2012

What Could Armenia’s Participation in Baku Entail?

Armenia/Azerbaijan – Today the EBU published the official participants list for the Eurovision Song Contest 2012. Among the 43 participating countries is Armenia. Even though the Armenian Head of delegation has put the participation in question again today, a participation of the Caucasian country is most likely. First of all we have to say that we are happy Armenia will probably be in Baku as Eurovision should be a festival that brings people (even rivals) together in the spirit of peaceful competition and music.

Constant Problems in Sporting Events

In view of many events concerning the two rival countries Azerbaijan and Armenia, however, we also have to ask ourselves what the Armenian participation could mean for the Eurovision Song Contest 2012. The FIFA has already taken the nacessary actions to prevent a clash of the two countries. Armenia and Azerbaijan have no diplomatic relations after a 1992-1994 war in Nagorno-Karabakh and remain at loggerheads over the status of the region. The two South Caucasus neighbors were drawn together in Euro-2008 qualifying but the matches were never played. FiFA said it would “honor a request by European soccer authorities to keep the former warring neighbors apart when qualifying groups are drawn July 30 in Rio de Janeiro” according to Associated Press.

Attacks With Stones

In October last year, during the Baku-hosted world boxing championship, Armenian boxers were attacked with stones. When an Armenian boxer took the ring, a group of activists from the group “Liberation of Karabakh” attacked the Armenian boxers throwing stones and threatening them saying they should leave Baku. One of the nationalists Akif Nagi said after the incident “We learned that the Armenian boxers were coming to the ring. When we saw them, we started to throw stones, after which we faced resistance by the police”. None of the boxers were injured, but the incident illustrates the difficult security situation Armenian face when entering Azerbaijan.

Under normal circumstances Armenians are not allowed to enter Azerbaijan. Exceptions are only made for international sporting and other events. Whether such a special treatment would only include the Armenian delegation or also Armenian fans is not sure. The constant frictions in sporting events can make us expect the worst for Eurovision however. Constant booing during the Armenian entry will be the least problematic…. Let’s hope everything goes well in May.

This is my major concern actually. I don't think a host that normally bans other participant countries' citizens should be allowed to host in the first place (sorry Azerbaijan). To me that's just disturbing and unfitting for a host.

I think everything will be ok, if Armenians will not walk with their separatist Karabach flag in the streets of Baku. If they will not act as provocative as their current president with the slogan: "Before Khojali, the Azerbaijanis thought that they were joking with us, they thought that the Armenians were people who could not raise their hand against the civilian population. We were able to break that [stereotype]." Current president of Armenia and 1992 war lord Serzh Sarkisian's interview
(Thomas de Waal, "Black Garden: Armenia and Azerbaijan through peace and war", New York & London: New York University Press, 2003, pp. 169-172).

If they act like ordinary Eurovision fans nobody even will recognize in them Armenians. Just regular fans from the Caucasus. Even through, Armenians look darker than other Caucasians, but I think people will consider them Caucasians anyway. Of course I want them to walk with their flags. I have hope, this both nations will find common topic "Eurovision" to start peaceful attitude towards each other.

here we go.if FIFA cancelled football matches coz of security matter(Azerbaijan refused to offer them to Armenian fans) how can they provide security to our eurovision fans, not only to the team itself?

Re: ARMENIA 2012

This thread has gone bizarrely off topic. What does comparing the skin colours of Azeris and Armenians have to do with ESC? :? :? :? :? :? :? :? You people are turning this thread into a joke. This thread should be about Armenia's song and artist at ESC (neither of whoich they have selected yet), not personal hate-rants about people from a country they dont like.
