I don't see :se: performing last. It's obviously one of the acts that will have more people waiting for it and I don't think they're keeping it for the very end. Never happened before.

Never heard of "Saving the best for last"?! ;)

I guess we will get a slot between 13-17th

Yeah, but that hasn't happened in Eurovision yet and it's not the same when you know a running order in advance. Some people could just turn on their TV in the end of the show if they already know that Sweden is last. If it's a bit more in the midle they can prevent this. Just my opinion ;)

Who can make a draw in the 2nd Semi without crushing many ballads together?

I agree with GermanBango and ParadiseES, broadcasters already managed to do it in the past (although in a lesser extent). Look at the first semi last year: we got Belgium, Moldova, San Marino and also The Netherlands and Monténégro following each other. Instead of only considering the type of song as whole (uptempo or ballad), they'll be more precise to try to make them stand out : Balkan ballad, power ballad, very slow ballad, mid-tempo, etc. I don't say they won't have a hard time doing this considering the first half/second half division, but I'm sure it's possible to have a smooth draw if they do it carefully.

One thing we know for sure, no matter how ORF decides the running order, some people will be pissed off saying that some countries are favorised

And I would be the first  I'm eager to start complaining about the definitive draw  Just kidding.

That's what happens when you have the silly idea of not getting the running order by a draw. Nobody would blame the pots or the balls, but people are always suspicious.

It would be best if the producers determined the running order in terms of where the downtempo and uptempo songs were, but sorted the songs into two pots, with a random draw determining which song goes where. That would still give a good show, without giving bias towards or against certain songs.

But then you get "Da Da Dam," "Love in Rewind," "New Tomorrow," and "C'est ma vie" all in order followed by "What about my Dreams," "Lipstick," "Popular," "Rockefeller Street," and "Watch My Dance" all in order. There is absolutely a trade-off between the two.

I think the producers have actually done a very good job with the running order to be honest, these last few years.

And? I see no problem with this. It's a song contest. Good songs should stand out without the help from a certain producer (a help that could be quite different depending on the country you're from).

Belgium
Macedonia
Netherlands
Moldova
Estonia
Greece
Finland
Armenia
Belarus
Hungary
Romania
Georgia
Russia
Serbia
Albania
Denmark

Belgium is the clear choice to start. Anything else would be inappropriate (Estonia or Finland) or a total drag (anything else.) Finland is toward the middle of the semi because I feel like it would be most fun to lull viewers into a false sense of security before surprising them with it. The second half is pretty easy and I think there are a lot of orders that would work as well as the one I came up with. Denmark last is an honest prediction, NOT a personal preference.

Lithuania
Malta
Czech Republic
Montenegro
San Marino
Norway
Portugal
Ireland
Sweden
Poland
Azerbaijan
Iceland
Switzerland
Slovenia
Cyprus
Latvia
Israel

I kind of gave up on the first half, but I'll be surprised if anyone other than Lithuania or Malta opens. I put Sweden at the beginning of the second half, because the first half will be dragging by that point and something upbeat and familiar will be welcome (it's not like putting it there will hurt it.) I almost chose Latvia to close because of course I did, but I looked at the last couple of years and it looks like the song that closes the semis should be uptempo, and preferably a silly one if you have one, so that's obviously Israel.

oooo looking forward to seeing the running order. It would make predicting the qualifiers easier and allow me to moan about the order when a song I like is given a horrible slot.

I have a really awful feeling that Malta will be opening the second semi, but then again, Malta did open it last year so hopefully they'll be fairer on them this year. The song just screams great show opener though. It most likely will be Lithuania then as pinkchiffon pointed out. I too can't see any other songs opening the second semi. That really is an unfortunate first half of songs.
