So 8 countries had the same draw as last year, Armenia, Estonia, Hungary, Lithuania, Malta, Norway, Slovenia and Switzerland.
Malta, Estonia and Switzerland have had exactly the same three years running. Serbia is also in the same position it had two years ago.

8 countries participated in Semi 1 in both 2014 and 2015. The same goes for the other semi final.
Belgium, Estonia, Moldova, The Netherlands and Russia have all been in Semi 1 for the past three years while Denmark and Serbia have been in it for all the semis they have been in.
Malta, Norway, Israel and Switzerland have been in the Second Semi three years running while Poland have also been for their two years since the system began.

Semi 2 looks like a semi of losers  should be fun. I'm glad :uk::ie: and :de: vote in the same semi, hopefully we can get a few points from them

If Ewa Farna will represent Czech Republic then we gave for your country 12 points ;P but will be unfair because she is a Pole and she was born in Czech Repblic ;D

A couple more things to note. Since the last time a big five country won the winners have been like this.
Azerbaijan - Second Half of first Semi
Sweden - Second Half of second Semi
Denmark - First half of first Semi
Austria - First half of second Semi
If this pattern continues, the winner is likely to be in the second half of the first Semi this year.

Also, from 2011 onwards, the winner has always shared their semi final with Lithuania and have never shared it with Latvia. Of course, both of these can't be true this year because Latvia and Lithuania are in the same Semi.

Or a prequalified country and then re-start the cycle :D

A bit fun that Sweden was the last one to get a draw.

However, I am a bit unpleased. Sweden is in semifinal 2, I was kind of hoping we would compete in semifinal 1 because semifinal 1 is always the best (since 2012) and it feels like semifinal 2 is not always as fun to watch, and to be honest it feels nowadays that it's better to go out first in a semi-final than later (it was different in 2008 when the two favorites Dima and Kalomira was last in their semi, and last year the two favorites Aram and Sanna was first out). And I don't know why but it just feels like having Norway in the same semifinal will bring bad luck.
Unpleased? If we had been drawn in semi 1. I would have understand your Point. It´s much worse going out in the first semi rather than the second, at least for me. We have got a great draw for once, if we miss the final, we only have ourselves to blame for it

It will always be one semi that is better than the other one, we should be very satisfied with the draw, when we missed the final 2010, it was because of a weak song and that some of the better ballads from :dk::az::ua::il::ie: took those votes

Have you already forgotten that  was in our semi 2012?

I think semifinal 1 is better, it feels like the song that does good or get the most attention are always in the first semifinal, even though Loreen and Conchita was in semifinal 2 I still think semifinal 1 is always/often better. And I don't think we have a great draw, perhaps if we are last or second last to perform but I doubt it, I bet we get like starting position 9 or 11 or something like that. Not saying semifinal 1 is always better, in 2010 all the good songs ended up in semifinal while semifinal 1 was one of the most lacking semifinals ever. But in 2012, 2013 and 2014 the best songs came from semifinal 1.

I know we won with Norway in our semifinal, but my dream scenario is having Sweden teamed up with Iceland in semifinal 1, it always feels like when a nordic country is alone in their semifinal they do really good.

Just for fun, I've just made a voting sheet for the semifinal 1 taking escnation stats (relative points to total score) from last years. This is the result I got:

1- Belgium 101
2- Armenia 91
3- Greece 86
4- Hungary 85
5- Russia 83
6- Moldova 80
7- Romania 72
8- Serbia 65
9- Netherlands 64
10- Georgia 61

11- Belarus 61
12- Finland 60
13- Estonia 53
14- Denmark 49
15- Albania 48
16- FYR Macedonia 43

From 43 to 101 points. Not a huge difference that a good songs can't fight.

And semifinal 2 (this one can't be so accurate because Czech Republic has so poor stats, as well as Montenegro):

1- Switzerland 101
2- Norway 96
3- Malta 96
4- Ireland 95
5- Poland 92
6- Sweden 83
7- Azerbaijan 81
8- Latvia 81
9- Lithuania 81
10- Iceland 77

I also did this yesterday, but you need to take in account for example Belgium received it's only point in 2009 from Armenia (so the relative score is 100%), now this is already lower but it still has an effect now because they are still at the top.

And tbh, I never believe we can win this semi :D

Yeah, that's true. But it's still the most realiable stats we have. At least the best out of those who are already done haha

Semi-final 1 has (in my opinion) 6 qualifiers that are sure qualifiers:

Greece
Armenia
Denmark
Romania
Russia
Hungary

Alternatives: The Netherlands, Finland, Serbia, Moldova

Semi-final 2 only has 2 sure qualifiers:

Iceland
Sweden

Now, nothing can really be said who will qualify to the final yet, but it's fun to speculate.

Well, Estonian stats are fucked by disastrous 2005-2008, too. Only Eesti Laul era (2009-) results should be considered as far as I'm concerned.
