Mlyn Lol I love the Spanish accent : "Here are the botes from Espain" xlove It's cute.

In case France wins (before I die), I'd host the contest since I couldn't endure our bad accent.

I wouldn't mind a contest entirely held in French tbh, since it is the original ESC language.

Why are you surprised? Romania is a Latin country and they love Spain. Most of the housewives understand Spanish because of the Mexican soap operas.

I am not surprised.

However, soap operas don't seem to help us very much. Otherwise we'd be getting points from most Eastern European countries and we aren't

Apparently Kati and Andi have a th-pronounciation problem and are confused how to pronounce France. Sounds more french than english.... ^^

Both of them are Gemini, that is why they appear so funny. If they would make a band, they'd possibly sing "Cry baby" :D

I think allocation draws would be fun to watch in Italian, French or Spanish television, because their English basically sucks.

Welcome you all to the allocaseon droar.......

Espain votes in de second semifinel, Eslovenia first half of secundo semifinel, Paises Bajos secundo half of secundo semifinel

I have no clue where you take this from xbeee

It's not much worse than the English I've heard in your country though ;)

Well, we either are very proficient or not at all. At least we wouldnt talk english without knowing how to do it. :D

You may hear a lot of accent-free English in Western Slavic countries. Just check in at a restaurant and you'll see.

Well, after the 2014 "incident" during the voting, I guess nowadays most people would be offended by that I guess.

As for "France" pronunciation, I thought they did it on purpose :D it sounded more French than English, yes. They were cute though

Poland's leap in this list is quite remarkable indeed. EF English Proficiency Index - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia :cz: is not quite up there yet but they're also improving.

Slightly disappointed tbh, since we are at the same level as Spain and Italy. Maybe having very proficient English speakers and non-proficient speakers equals the same level of proficiency Spain and Italy have.

I am also stunned, that Austria ranks as very high proficient in English, because most people I know tell me that my English is very proficient and much better than theirs.

Most Austrians pronounce France in English language incorrectly like Andi Knoll did today.

The Greek commentators laughed so hard at the Spanish spokesperson ("Congratoolaysions, hahahah"), although their own spokesperson neither had a very proficient English command.

The problem is not the accent. Everyone has an accent. The thing is if you can communicate or not. I was surprised in Prague many people spoke better Spanish than English

Spaniards lie though :p Spaniards actually know more English than it looks, but our high sense of ridiculous paralyzes us
We can do it. TVE just needs to choose some spokeperson who knows English. That's not that hard to find.

I only know that Mexicans have a very high command in either Spanish and English. So if they can do it, you should be able to do it as well.

Spanish is taught more and more in schools in the UK now. When my brother was at school is French and German, but more schools are dropping German for Spanish.
