Is Griffin Empire filming all of their videos in the same warehouse?!
Liis Lemsalu will represent the nation in Utopolis
Earlier today, GTV announced that Griffin Empire will take part at the WLSC in Utopolis and that the Griffin singer Liis Lemsalu will have the honour of representing the nation with the song Kehakeel. This will be the first time in 181 years that the Griffin song would be sung in its mother tongue which created quite a buzz on the social media. Most of the comments were rather positive, ranging from “finally” to “why don’t we do this more often”, but the music video got even more attention. “I have the strangest sense of deja vu” one person wrote under the photo comparing this and last years as well as Mika’s music video with the insinuation that these videos were all shot in the exact same place. GTV is still yet to comment on these funny accusations.
The song is translated as “Body Language” and is another Griffin ode to love. When her manager Sandra Sersant first sent her the demo, she was not sure if it would work for the contest, but she said that she liked the music very much. Liis stated that the most difficult part of the story was writing the lyrics and that the first drafts were actually in Finnish. Together with Maian Kärmas, she spent weeks working on words. "I'm a bit of a police officer, if I'm not one hundred percent happy with it, I usually don't say yes and I try again," Lemsalu explained. Later, Kärmas admitted to her that she had never written a story for so long before. When she was asked about the meaning of the song she said: "It's a pun, a game of trying and experimenting."
Lemsalu added that she often tends to change her mind. "As a person, I am definitely not an introvert, rather an extrovert, but too many emotions can be hard to process. Too much overthinking," said Lemsalu, not addressing the “warehousegate”.

Favourite Griffin song is ode to life and death
Laleh Pourkarim, known mononymously as Laleh, one of the most popular singers in the Griffin Empire will represent the nation at the next Waiting List Song Contest. Her song, titled "Vårens Första Dag" - first day of spring will try to win Natian hearts just like she won Griffin. The indie pop song was written and produced by Laleh, in collaboration with Gustaf Thörn, with whom she had a few production sessions for her album Sjung. Beside her hits like Some Die Young, Storebror, Bjurö klubb and Bara få va mig själv; Laleh is probably best known outside Griffin Empire for competing in the second edition of the Griffin Song Contest where she finished third with Det Kommer Bli Bra representing the principality of Foreõsvdetrre.
In a review for the accompanying album, Anders Jaderup of SaudiGriffinisk' mentioned that the song was a "real trump card", praising "Vårens första dag" for its "exuberant energy". "It's a great pop song, a life-affirming soundtrack". Marcus Grahn wrote for Hetimaa Folknouevele that the song "is a wonderful, colorful, explosive, flowering, encouraging and provoking prayer for life". A review from Filipolisöpostennä by Johan Lindtqwýst noted the song's lyrical content as "about both death and the spark of life placed into a pop song. And, with that typical galloping rhythm Laleh apparently likes."

Griffin Ireland wins in a record breaking edition
The third edition of Griffin national festival came to an end with a bang! Live from the the Arkea-arrenaa in Pyetsit, the capital of Eestimadnait principality the show was broadcasted to 9 Natian countries (not including the Empire) making it the edition with the biggest audience yet. But that is not the only record that has been broken: Eestimadnait won for the second time in a row with the record breaking number of points and Foreõsvdetrre came third for the second time in a row making it the second most successful principality with 3 top 3 finishes in a row and . The presenters of the show were 2 Griffin singers - Benjamin Ingrosso and Alfie Templeman. More information on the show can be found here: link.
International jury results
The votes of the international jury were revealed first. The international jury consisted of 9 nations - Solentoya, Effiland, Utopolis, Svobodnia, Bigicia, Tanoiro, Pyreica, Moisantia and Emsfrynt. Two of them debuted at Griffiniskaja Laul - Effiland and Emsfrynt. After all the votes came in, Eestimadnait was in the lead with 68 points. This is when the Griffin WLSC representative was known.
Public vote results
The votes of the public were added next to determine the overall winner of the festival. Following the well established format, votes were presented Eurovision-style, while traveling from the principality to principality (same as the international jury results). Sletterimaa recieved 58 points from the Griffin vote, which cemented their victory, but also making it the biggest one at the festival yet. Sletterimaa finished second and thanks to the few points differences from the International Jury Foreõsvdetrre finished third.
Griffiniskaja Laul 04 for WLSC 206?
Griffiniskaja Televisioon confirmed that the festival was a success and that it will be renewed for another season, but also that it will be held for the WLSC 206 at earliest. The only thing that is sure that the contest will stay in Eestimadnait. Filipolis, Sania, Rizsit, Busk and Vilabradwõt all already expressed their interest in hosting the event.
