^ The only problem I have with it is that they were promisedd a place from IHF and it got taken away. I am sure there are better ways of making the qualification, perhaps letting Australia has an extra playoff-game against an Asian side or something, but since it was decided in beforehand, they should keep it as it is and changed it till the next World Champs.

Anyhow, I am of course following as well, Sweden has started off great with three easy wins. Egypt next, should win, but it won't be as easy as the earlier games and later on an important game against France about the group win, looking forward to that! :D

Now we assured the first place in our group. I would like Brazil in 1/8 final, of course I don'think at all it would be an easy match but it would be less painful than f.e. Spain....or even Qatar, they are very good too ..... we'll see, anyway.

Today we will play with a Saudi Arabia. We only need to draw (to qualify for knockout stage) and with all respect to Arabian team, but I think that our team could do it easily. I don't underestimate them, but Poland's team finally need to win by a at least few goals :)

EDIT - We managed to win, :pl: - Saudi Arabia 32-13. Our players wasted all penalties and were doing some a little mistakes (but it didn't have a big influence on result), but except that it was nice match. Good things is that Danes and Russians had more conceded goals in game vs. Saudi Arabia (than Poland) and we qualified for the knockout stage. We will probably end a group on a 3rd/4th place, so I don't expect a easy rival in round of 16 :p
BTW1 - :se: was losing to :eg: 22-24, but they equalized and was leading for a while. But it ended by draw 25-25.
BTW2 - Today I'll watch first non-Polish game at this tournament - :dk: against :ru: :D

Yees 28-23 victory against Argentina. Couldnt watch the match due to university but thats a good result. I guess it was a very hard match cause Germany was just one or two goals ahead most time of the second half.
I think we are safe on 1st place now. Dont see our team losing agsinst the Saudis

Impressing result from Egypt. Doesnt matter if we gotta play against Egypt or :is: it will ba difficult match in the next round

Little correction: :cz: will be our opponent

Iceland doesn't even have to compete on saturday against Egypt.. it will be end up like 20:40 or something
For a team with world class players like Palmarsson it's a shame to lose against a mediocre Czech team in THAT manner. I read that around 90% of Icelands population are regularly watching handball matches of their team... and the players make fools of theirselves. I'm really disappointed.

Croatia 28 - 21 Bosnia and Herzegovina

Well, as it was expected. One smooth match. Not a very important one, so our "main" players could take rest. In the other side, Bosnians didn't seem very interested for the game....
With all five victories from five matches, we finished the first part of this tournament. Now 1/8 final and Brazil follow (in Sunday).

I was a bit too pessimistic here

:is: won 28:25 against Egypt, surpassed them in the table and are in Round of 16 now
Performance was okayish
I guess Egypt lost intentionally because they want to play rather against Germany than against Denmark

As expected :de: won with 36:19 goals against Saudi Arabia. Germany conceded too many easy goals in the second half, but it doesn't matter at all

We lost against France, we played really well, but as always, France were too strong in the end. Now Poland next, I don't like playing against them either, we usually have problems against them and even if we win, we will problably be up against Croatia in the quaterfinal. Hoping for the best!

I agree with Verjanem, most likely the matches will end like that

The only fixtures that might be tight are the two matches that start right now

Hopefully I'm wrong and there will be some surprises in the other matches.

Argentina made a draw against Denmark, so maybe they can compete also with France

Iceland did well against France, maybe also against Denmark

I will watch :at: against Qatar now... the winner of this match will be Germany's opponent (if we beat Egypt)

I will cross my fingers for our neighbours
