So SACHI saw our final qualification streak of the 180s end - such a shame, but it had to end eventually!

For 188, we're selecting internally again and I had originally planned on a pretty new track from an artist from my home nation but something else has been plaguing my airwaves incessantly for almost a month now and I feel it might fit the NSC crowd.

It's something familiar - having been sampled in around 15 different songs (thankfully none of which appear in the NSC database) - but I'm hoping that it will still be daring enough to get us back to the final

On to NSC 188 now with hope that a slight change of tempo might get us back to the final...

I included this track in my WorldVision NF for the last edition, and it finished second, but I've been so obsessed with it that I figured it deserved a chance to compete so NSC is its forum

The chorus from this track has been one of the most iconic vocal samples in dance music for many decades (with almost 20 songs having sampled it so far, including the epic "Stupidisco" by Junior Jack) but oddly I had never thought to search for who sang the original song.

After discovering the Pointer Sisters were eligible for the Western USA region in WV, I trawled through their back catalogue and straight away, it hit me - "Dare Me" was their song! Shook, stunned and immediately in love

Rumour has it that is still holding an NF for the next edition. Doubts had been cast over this fact as the Moisantian delegation had reportedly closed the voting HQ due to "lack of interest" but these claims have been unfounded today by the team.
