Black Mamba also didn't had an eurovision ready package for Eurovision and they did probably the best staging of that edition. I have faith in Josh.
It is not the same thing, Black Mamba had a concept that they polished for eurovision, even Salvador just polished the staging that he had in the nf, you see the nf performance you can see that the forest was there from the start.
Josh needs a brand new stage concept and a polished, brand new, staging isn't something you can do in 2 days.

There's no "work on the staging until May", each delegation has to send the info regarding their entry a couple days after Melfest. Portugal, like Sweden, only have a couple of days to decide what they want to do on Basel.
Josh does not have a eurovision ready package, Fernando on the other hand...
I really can't comprehend this "Eurovision ready package " when the song is crap. And the staging was not the best thing ever either.

He sat at a table. He climbed a chair. He got off the chair. He joined the band.

Why is this something to rave about?

The only thing going for him is his professionalism and experience. Not even the voice. It's pushy and emotionless.

Oh well. He's winning, no harm done. But it's a lost opportunity.

Mhm. Checked out the performance of "Medo", and it's just kinda... mid, IMO. His vocals are strong, but even with the revamp the song is just okay, and the staging is really nothing special.

Honestly, Josh just scrapping everything and just standing there should beat that, given how much stronger Tristeza is. But well, Medo winning auch a beautiful song selection does fit into this year for sure...

Yeah. Medo winning over Tristeza is very Esc 2025.

They won't.
I think so, too. Let's just wait to see famous artists supporting Fernando this week.
Unfortunately, in a tough year, Josh made a fatal mistake. It was mandatory to bring the most solid performance possible. We kinda knew this would happen.

I will always choose the special song over the polished trivial one. Josh's stage is salvageable. Fernando's song isn't.

People who were obsessed with the odds last week seem to also overlook that FD epic oh so good performance didn't make a single breeze in them. Zero. Nada.

What a surprise.

Portugal saved a lot of years for me (last year too), but this year sadly it won't really happen I guess. The songs that seem able to win all miss something for me. I guess that I'd go for Josh but it takes a strong revamp to maybe find something in that song that clicks with me.

And indeed, the staging doesn't work now. Everything really. The pole, the blue coloured theme, the camera angles.. His outfit and nails even. It's a big misfit.

At least don't go for Fernando. It sounds and looks all a bit better but that song is just incredibly lame. Zero creativity, zero soul and zero Portugal.

It is sad, that Portugal system for choosing winner is bad. Sad because that Henka would have been banger in ESC, especially here in Finland. Regional juries will bury her. Regional juries are anyway bad system, international are better, best possible system is perhaps in Sweden. Also superfinal system is good.

Perhaps I´m wrong and I can vote Henka in ESC, she is best so far in all!

I rank the final like this:

1. Diana Vilarinho 10/10 - yes ppl, YES, that actually happened, this woman overpassed JOSH on my list!!!!! Her interpretation made me stare without blinking for a 3 minutes...this is mesmerizing, she looks fantastic her outfit is amazing! I have to check what about this song actually sings but I'm sure I'm gonna love those lyrics, I believed to every single phrase of her without understanding a word in Portuguese language.. xlove xheart
2. JOSH 10/10
3. Bluay 10/10
4. NAPA 10/10 - everything i expected happened here, i loved the stagng, outfit, this keeps going on as one of my faves definitely
5. Fernando Daniel 9/10 - fantastic interpretation and staging, I upgraded to 9 after it...
6. HENKA 7/10 - strong performance, still don't want it for Portugal...
7. Margarida Campelo 7/10
8. Jessica Pina 6/10
9. Bombazine 6/10 - it is all right
10. Marco Rodrigues 6/10
11. Emmy Curl 5/10 - I don't like it, but it not executed bad..
11. Peculiar 4/10

From the second semi final I will miss TOTA!

Fernando Daniel seems to have a winning performance and i think he would do way better in Basel than what people thinks, possibly lower top 10 or left hand-side, similar to Isaak from Germany last year. JOSH will still landslide the jury vote next week for the final but televote is a real unknown thing here. Will Fernando Daniel beat Josh at the televote remains unknown ? NAPA seems already DOA even if he wins the jury.
There's also a very high chance that Diana is second in the jury, downgrading Fernando 3rd and this would allow Josh to win overall being 3rd with the televote.

So you're telling me it's already over for Henka? Oh, Portugal, you're hopeless....xcryWAIT A MINUTE, Fernando Daniel had an excellent performance and his song was not initally on my radar, but I absolutely love it now! He goes straight to my number two behind Henka in FDC. xyaaay

And he seems to have a shot at winning this. Portugal, you came out of nowhere with this xheat

To have any chance with the judges of the final Henka needs to improve her vocals. I've read some comments that say that the problem is that she does not have much momments to breathe and that's why she can't keep up with the song and I can totally see what they mean, they could have kept some singing parts in the chorus as a breather and in other nfs many artists did exactly that.Although, I must say, she does no have a eurovision ready package. The staging needs work, not in throw away everything and let's start from scratch like Josh, but I would have changed the clothes to give a cheerleader vibes, making it easier to the public to read and connect with it(and I thought that was the idea when she posted a instastory wearing a very cheerleader-esque sporty top during rehearsals) and make the eyes completely black(like she has in her postcard, let's serve something like "Jennifer's Body", you're possessed by an ancient being of unfathomable power and there bitches around you are annoying). I would also add two more dancers to make it an actual cheerleader squad and I would remove some of the screen effects, the D-E-S-T-R-O-Y should have been in the ledwall during a wide shot.

Aniway, it's up to her at this point. I'll go down with her ship and I intend to vote as many times as possible so that she can get a good result and for other portuguese artists, like Henka, to try to participate next year or in the years to come, but for me Fernando Daniel has the goods.

When is the running order going to be announced?

I really hope Josh starts a campaign because Fernando Daniel absolutely is going to.
