This victory certainly has tarnished the image of the ESC. People I know who are 'casual' viewers, are just mocking the show now.

Where? Everyone's I've seen talk about Eurovision has been very supportive of Conchita and fascinated by her.

Lena? xrofl3 Loreen maybe is the same level, but Conchita is definately milles better than Lena vocally

You can't compare like that..Lena is quirky and modern, relaxed, smth different, and for this type of ballad you have to be pitch perfect which wasn't the case obviously..not to mention how ugly and unpleasent is color of voice.. ;)

But this is your opinion. I find Lena's voice bad, although the song is good. Lena was just lucky imo to take part in a bad year. In any other year she would have been in the top 10 but defonately she wouldn't have won

Lena - "Taken by a stranger" is smth we will hardly EVER have in ESC again (especially with trend of last 2 winners)...that entry is smth not too good fro ESC, but smth INCREDIBLE for ESC..too modern for that festival xshrug

You know we won't agree or find a solution. I don't want to continue this cause I will maybe get angry and insult you without wanted. So please let me leave my myth cause the song that I wanted to win over any other won and deserved (in most people's opinion). As about Lena I like her songs but not her cause I have a really bad image. I don't find her song something unique as well

All my fiends, who are non ESC fans (I don't have friends who are ESC fans) adored "Satellite",'Euphoria" and "Taken by a stranger"..they started to watch ESC after these entries, but now NO WAY!

Well, I guess you should learn to control yourself a bit, in discussion, but that will come with years! :) ;)

Everyone I know loves Rise Like a Phoenix and agrees that it deserved to win. The Netherlands were also very popular here but no one says that it deserved to win over Conchita, it deserved it as much (although I didn't like it at all). Satellite is a fun song but Lena really isn't a good singer. Euphoria had its time 2 years ago and is now only played the week Eurovision is. And Taken by a Stranger was horrendous. It was painful to watch and even more painful to listen to. But those are only the opinions of me and the people I know. Not the whole world. There's a difference you know.

Well, folks... I don't know where you all take your information of so many people who dislike the song, mock the event and so on. The facts are simple and obvious. It was a victory that received the fourth highest number of points in the entire history of the contest, even if there have been fewer countries voting than in recent years. Televoters in many contries that didn't give 12 points (or even no points like Armenia) placed this song in the top three (or at least in the top 5), we could also compare how many 12 points Austria got this year compared to other winners in recent years (didn't do it yet, but I think that would also show a great approval). Journalists all over the world from the United States to Australia praise Conchita for being a great singer with a strong voice and a powerful song who not only deserved the victory but also is a charming and clever personality.
So whatever haters say now or will repeat again and again - this can nothing change to the fact that this victory will be one of the few to stand out and mark a historic moment of Eurovision. People will remember Conchita when politicians like Jirinovski will long be vanished from public consciousness.

Guys I need some help here. All these months I'm trying to figure out whether Tom lives his everyday life (off stage) as Tom or as Conchita. Does anybody know for sure about this?

As he frequently stated: off stage, he's just Tom and enjoys not being recognized. (which might change now given the fact, that so many pictures of him as Tom reappear)

What I can say is that Conchita is everywhere in France ! We've never seen that ! Usually, when Eurovision is over, it's over ! There is a flash news the following day at 1 pm, and at 8 pm nothing. And now, in every talk show, there is Conchita ! :D

BTW, in fair TV and radio news, it is said that Eurovision was a great show and the winner is great. Only TV news were stupid, as usual... xfacepalm 'The bearded transvestite and gna gna gna"...

And it has also been talked as our super Christine Boutin said she was ill at ease and she didn't want this Europe... She leads a list at the European elections against gay rights, against abortion, etc... When open-minded people express their minds... She has been answered she has the same statements as Russian dictators ! xrofl3
