I heard an interview with Bonnie in german-radio today, she seems to be a very nice person and I really like the song.
I hope you'll archieve a good placing in the final, my british friends! :)
Good luck.

Katrina&The Waves, Imaani, Sandie Shaw, Brotherhood of man, Jessica Garlick, Jade, Lulu, Cliff Richard (but with Power to all our friends, I don't like Congratulations that much), Sonia, Andy Abraham (I have weakness for that song)... that would be it ;D I voted for Katrina... I listen to "Love Shine a Light" the most in general among the ones mentioned.

And of course Bonnie joins that company.

EDIT: how could I forget the guilty pleasure? Gina G too!:D:lol:

So the BBC want us to vote for our fave UK entry ever:

BBC - Radio 2 - Vote - UK's Best Ever Eurovision Entry

gonna do a top 20 leading up to the contest, no surprises that I voted for Jade haha

I voted for "Love shine a light" :D

I really like these entries as well (random order): Save your kisses for me, Making your mind up, Power to all our friends, Ooh aah just a little bit, Hold on to our love, Come back, It's my time...

And the most shameful ones were Cry baby and Flying the flag.

Scooch I've voted for :D

That would be funny if you were joking. At least I know you'll probably be (almost) the only one that votes for Scooch.

I hope Katrina And The Waves win, but knowing the type of listener on Radio 2, It'll either be Bucks Fizz or Brotherhood Of Man, because apparently Eurovision stopped in the early 80's.

Yup I think MYMU will win (barfs). I don't think any of the 5 winners are that good, LSAL would be most bearable but the BBC sent much better in the 90s than that.

I loved Jessica Garlick and every now and then I still listen to "Come back". It's a really nice song! :)

I don't know who to vote for. I loved Imaani (Where are you is a great track) and I also like some of the recent Uk songs like "Don't play that song again" (sorry, but I love that one ), "Cry baby" (also really liked that one - the studio version ), "No dream impossible", "Touch my fire", and "My time". I also like "Love shine a light". That song is still being played on the Canadian radio stations. Haven't really heard the older ones.

Scooch didnt get to #5 because people didnt like the entry ;)

No, but it did come 22nd in the contest because people didn't like it. It was popular for a very short time in Britain, but now It's looked at with shame by many. I don't expect it to do that well in the vote, although by definition It's likely that the more recent entries will have a better chance of doing well compared to random 60's and 70's entries.

I hope Love City Groove does well, such an underrated song.

Europeans might not have liked it. Britons did. That's a fact, and there's no point in denying. I hardly expect Scooch to win the poll. However, they will receive many more votes than you're expecting. Flying The Flag is in the eyes of most British people the 'perfect' Eurovision entry.

Was Scooch really popular though? Maybe in the same way that the Bob the Builder song was popular...i.e. for small children and for taking the piss out of at parties.

I agree that British people think that it's the perfect Eurovision winning formula, because for whatever reason it escapes most of us that it's no longer the era of Abba anymore.

Now let us never speak of this again.
