Why isn't the budget used correctly? :?
I actually think the current management team is much better than the previous one, with the only exception of the running order thing.

I don't really want to think too far ahead, I mean 2015 is still months away but I'm happy if it all plays out that way. There are so many Turkish fans and they all obviously lost interest so I can't wait for their return.

It appears to me, that they found out, that Turkvision was perhaps not as successful, as they planed it to be. A part from some ESC webpages, it had no echo in the western medea whatsoever. So the "we can do it better without you, you'll see"-plan failed.
BUT: i still don't think this statement is a reliable indication wether we'll see Turkey next year. Let's wait....

No, please don't return. I was so happy without Turkey and now they return.

Maybe they already wanted to return this year but didn't dare embarass themselves side by side with Conchita in the Green Room.

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo....

I see a lot of people are confused about the decision. Ibrahim Sahin left his general manager position to someone new after TRT announced that Turkey will not be a part of ESC 2015. New general manager Şenol Göka already tweeted that thay are trying to make things work out and hopefully next year Turkey will be back. Apparently they did do that and we're back. The decision is not about a potential change in voting or Turkvizyon fail (Which is not entirely TRT's project by the way, they don't even televise it). TRT's attitude has changed because there's someone new in charge. What I don't understand is attitude of some people here. A lot of countries withdraw and come back later and TRT wasn't wrong about all of their complaints (like that big 5 bullsh*t). I believe that more countries make a better ESC. I'm just glad that I can watch Eurovision on TV now. Watching it online wasn't as fun.

Currently in Spain, in the land of guapos

Why did you come to Spain (a country appreciated for its warm weather) the most freezing days of the year? There are plenty of days when you can see guapos with less clothes

Perfectly explained. You all blame TRT for the whole thing and you're suprised that we're suddenly back. A new HoD come after Ibrahim Sahin made a decision about our participation in 2015 so he couldn't change anything in that case. If Ibrahim Sahin was still in TRT, we wouldn't participate in 2016, too!

And about the people who doesn't want Turkey to return: You don't have anything to pay, you won't get bullied for Turkeys participation and you won't be hurted by anyone so why do you want Turkeys withdrawal? You shall be happy that one country is back and that you can listen to one more song in the contest, because it's all about music not about the country. Stop to blame TRT and Turkey, we Turkish fans wait already since 3 years of hope and finally we're participating!

BitterSweet. enlight me. from what I read in all the media that I have access to, turkvision is mainly TRT's project (starting with the idea,..). So who was really behind it?

If really Turkey makes a comeback, I'd be more than happy, for I think the more countries participate, the better. But I do hope there will be no "lex turquia", meaning no special treats to make them come back. That would not be good for the contest.

I think the difference to other countries that withdrew in the past (including my own) and Turkey was, that those countries all were unsuccessful even if in some cases they had a series of decent, if not good songs. Whereas Turkey has been extremely successful even with weaker songs. (and I liked a lot of the turkish entries!) So withdrawing when one is just ONCE below expectations was perceived as whiny and bad looser attitude. So to some extent one can understand negative reactions on that behavior.

Thus said, I'm happy to hear that it was more a single person in TRT, and not a political background as it was often heard.

I totally agree with you

PEOPLE SHOULD STOP HATING ON TURKEY
It's the diaspora that votes for their own country, not Turkish citizens themselves.
Don't blame the player, blame the game

EDIT: Also Turkey only had once a song that didn't deserve to qualify: 2011, and it didn't.
Don't blame Turkey. OK they sent the same style of songs over & over again but that was what worked in the nillies. 2003 - 2005 were all ethnic pop songs winning. Turkey just knows how to play the game. They're a good example for other countries

I've read it and seems pretty serious to me... I am Turkish and even I didn't like our attitude the previous years. But I would be just happy if Turkey comes back. Btw the article says that we're not participating just for the win anymore. It says that 'we' (Turkish people) just missed Eurovision. And that we're only participating for the fun of ESC now.

I like that style"participating for the fun" more than always wanting to win (like some other countries).
Hope something to see something as good as 2003,2008,2009 and 2010

Türkvizyon is a TMB TV project. TMB TV is a music TV channel for Turkic countries and not many people know or care about this channel. Apparently they started planning an "Eurovision Song Contest" for Turkic countries in 2010. In 2012, when TRT decided not to participate in ESC 2013, thay decided that it's time to kick thing off. They teamed up with TÜRKSOY (International Organization of Turkic Culture) to create Türkvizyon. Since both TMB TV and TÜRKSOY are based in Turkey, they decided to held first contest in Turkey. Eskişehir governor volunteered for city to be the host. Anatolia University, Kral TV (a popular music TV channel) and TRT helped to organize first contest since it was in Turkey. That's all connection between TRT and Türkvizyon. I believe that (even though I'm not %100 sure) TRT is still helping to choose Turkish artist but they're not officially a part of Turkvizyon.

About our past entries, I agree that some of our songs were overrated in the last 10 years and more of them were underrated before. I don't like a lot of Turkish songs either, they're rarely in my favourites list but that doesn't mean that we shouldn't be a part of this. İbrahim Şahin was never a fan of Eurovision. Even in early 2010 he said sth like "We don't want people to care about Eurovision, it's not an important contest.". Just because the decision of someone, people shouldn't be harsh to fans of that country. I mean, Italy withrew after they became 4th (ironically that year we became 3th which was our first top 5 and second top 10 result), yet everyone was waiting them with open arms.
