INFORMATION FOR NEW PLAYERS
After you join the Waiting List, I highly recommend looking for a place for your country. The unoccupied areas implicitly belong to both withdrawn nations, and current WLers. With few exceptions, you can claim any territory you wish. Take into account the geography and descriptions of the geocultural regions above, to find what is most fitting to the concept of your nation. PM me and I'll reserve the area for you. I'm also more than happy to answer any of your questions and give advice.
There is no hard limit on how big or small a nation can be, as long as you're not trying hardcore imperialism.
NSC is farily liberal when it comes to worldbuilding. Current nations range from medieval fantasy, to realistic, to futuristic.

I think *some* WLers should end up like District 13 did, before the Hunger Games have started. @Gera

#imbeingrudeanddisrespectful

But generally, I'm more up for choice 2, however I don't really support either of the changes way too much - constant "change" of countries' history.

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEKKKKKKKKKKKK!!!! 16 DAYS TO GOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

#OffTopicFanboygasm

Sorry, that's happening quite a lot at the moment when someone happens to mention THG - I'm seeking help for it...

As for the changes to the map, I don't really understand the point in adding the old nations on since we're just going to end up having a massive expanse of unused wasteland that will surely need to be added to as time progresses and more nations leave the main roster. Don't really get it personally, but whatever option the majority is most keen on...

Diplomacy prevails in Moisantia

I'd definitely prefer the first option, as the second one is going to make the map ridiculous (adding enough land for 100 more nations?! It'll be unrecognisable), and it would look a lot more authentic with smaller countries. Halito in particular was originally just the small cluster of islands off the coast of Yaponesia, and I would be happy to go back to that

And here are a couple of older maps for you:

Ok, the christmas holiday started for me, so i got around working on the map. I decided to go for a compromise option - added a chunk of land, but the overall shape of the continent hasn't changed much. You can see it here: clicky

The countries will be a little smaller than they are now.
The concept of regions works very well, so it'll remain, with some new regions added.
The new lands will appear on the east.

I'm still accepting requests regarding your location/shape/etc.

Update (New Version)

Full Size

Uh, yes. It took a while.

What's new and what's not

  • Shape of the continent remains largely the same with the exception of the large landmass in the middle of the continent. It's modeled after the very first map of Norigin.
  • Regions remain more or less unchanged. Again, the most significant change would be in the central landmass. Grassy plains were replaced by rocky mountains and deserts. The landscape gradually changes to plains and woodlands as you go north.
  • Added new countries, obviously. A handful of old ones were moved. I'll draw borders in the next update, but for now keep in mind when you study the map, that there'll be much more unoccupied space than before. The unoccupied space is meant for defunct nations as well as the waiting list. At first I put ALL the current and withdrawn nations on the map, but it turned out unreadable. Withdrawing nations will be erased from the map, but it doesn't mean they will magically turn into the debuting nations. Defunct nations are assumed to still be there. They're not displayed on maps, because in Natia participating in NSC is required for a country to be recognized by international community.
  • Graphics. Yes, they're a little different. Love it or hate it, I don't care. I made the mistake of trying to copy Kreso's style at first. To no avail. That's the prime reason why I procrastinated for months with the map. When I started over doing it my way, it only took about a week. So please don't complain and don't ask me to redo it in the previous fashion. I'm not Kreso.

Requests etc.

  • Feel free to request relocating your country or changing the terrain. I'm open to any request, but I reserve the right to refuse: requests that violate basic logic (for example a tropical island in the frozen north); claims on territories that other countries (even a withdrawn one) have a strong claim on; requests I don't like for any other reason I can't think of right now.
  • If you're on the WL, let me know where you would see your nation on the map. Remember the WL nations that debut earlier have priority in choosing a territory.
  • Later, when I'm done with the most urgent work, I may start to draw detailed country maps on request (provided you write a geography description first).

Can I be moved back to my llama shaped peninsula across PI?
I moved it there because llamas live in the mountains. I'll move it back in the next update. Can I add some mountains there or do you want it to remain plains?

Great work but seriously? I don't want my mainland to be Luxona's and I don't want to be in Highwind.
Okay, I'll fix that in the next update.

I like the style, and it also reminded me of that Westeros map (my desktop for a long time...).

If you have some free time, I would appreciate my peninsula back. I think you tried to tie in my original backstory with Virgo when you relocated me? Only I changed it when Kreso gave me that peninsula and now i'm quite attached to it. I see Cefiya stole my island, so i'll probably not be getting that back... :p

Again, awesome work with the map! :)

If it's not a problem, I'd like my country to be switched with Zumkotzen, I'd like to be in Highwind again.
Great map nonetheless.

You could add some mountains in the northeastern part of my country ^^ Thanks

1) If you are redrawing the borders, then I would like the shape of Zombira mainland to be more like in the early days than the one on krešo's (look at the map dan posted for reerence)

2)

Not sure if it is relevant at all, but the nation of Venera should really not be on the map (imo). It was quite well established that Venera's disappearance is explained by some sudden disaster flooding the country and turning it into a lake (for a while, the exact same territory that Venera, had was actually a lake on the map named Lake Venera). At some point the lake also become known as the microstate lake as all of the microstates were at first placed there. After the 2 semis expansion, Zombira expanded through land reclaimation to cover the former territory of Venera/Lake Venera. (Netherwing being the 1st place to appear from the water) Therefor, it was a case of Venera actually being destroyed and more or less disappearing.

What is left of Venera is 1) A region of Zombira is called New Venera 2) A part of that region is still covered with wetlands/bogs. If you want to, you can perhaps move the small lake close to Zombira to represent that 3) The so called Zombies and zombie like species in Zombira are believed to originate from drowned fauna of Venera

Also, a thing I forgot is that Zombiran mainland was originally double landlocked (see Dan's map). That got lost with Krešo, but if possible it would be cool to have it back.
