It was so pointless and unflattering, but that was just the start of her problems.
I mean what was she wearing? It made her look like a dwarf with stubby feet:(
The staging and camerawork didn't seem to have any direction to it, and worst of all, Trijntje herself just looked very uncomfortable and awkward.
I can see why it didn't qualify considering all those elements.

I never liked this song. Songs that extend words (like this 'iiiiiii') tend to weaken the melody most of the time, and this overdid that aspect to the fullest just making the song into some novelty.

I'm so sorry because the song is good itself, but the performance was just painful to see. This (expected) flop is more than deserved.

Since 2013 our selection process is different than the years before... Avrotros (our broadcaster) chooses the artist, and the artist the song but Trijntje picked the wrong one this year...

I don't think it was the song. It was nowhere near the last two years' level, but not per se bad. The performance lost the place in the final, I still have trouble connecting it with the song. To put it simple, the music by itself has a certain flair of "freedom", but it was not visible on stage.

Considering this is charting 4th best out of last night participants I think it did quite well in the televoting, and it was the juries that killed it off. I bet when the official results are released the Netherlands were a close 11th and did a Portugal 2014 maybe?

I agree ... I thought the song was pretty good, but as soon as I saw that performance I was already thinking it would flop. And it did.

did anyone else notice that Trintje looked at the cameraman at one point and they used that in the recap?

Tonight, watching S2, seeing many nice backdrops, I started feeling sad.
F.E. San Marino, I thought if Trijntje had such a warm classy backdrop we maybe qualified.
But we had that stupid harsh blue and white and white and I though Why ai ai.
Than it hit me, it where the colours of our flag. Maybe next week it hits me why she had to make a stupid "show" with that veil.
I think an (at least0 nice backdrop and nice clothes would have saved us. Or are we still thinking outstanding vocal is enough...:oops:
